We are committed to reducing waste through our construction activities by recycling, reusing and recirculating materials. An average of 99% of our construction waste is recycled across the business. Our UKAS ISO 14001 accredited Waste Management Plan includes a multi-skip system to ensure effective waste segregation and recycling and is recorded via the Construction Waste Portal. We regularly attend schools and colleges to promote sustainability and recycling, with activities including bird box building and donating surplus construction materials for construction-based students to gain hands-on learning. Since forming a partnership with Community Wood Recycling in 2016, we have rescued over 394 tonnes of waste wood from the waste stream. A nationwide social enterprise, CWR provide a commercial waste wood collection service to upcycle, recycle and reduce waste. #GlobalRecyclingDay2025 #Recycling #Sustainability #CommunityWoodRecycling #Environment #RecyclingMatters

It was a pleasure to revisit Nottingham College Basford Campus, delivering careers presentations to SLDD students in The Gateway. Having constructed The Gateway last year, we're proud to maintain our engagement and support for the local community. A huge thank you to our Social Value Manager, Shelley Williamson for delivering the engaging presentations. We look forward to supporting future careers events at this fantastic educational facility in the future. #careersupport #careerspresentation #NottinghamCollege #TheGateway #construction #education #communitysupport
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Shelley Williamson from Tomlinsons and Rebecca Powditch for dedicating their time to speak with some of our SLDD students. At Nottingham College we are deeply committed to creating meaningful opportunities for our SEND students, who may not always have access to the same pathways as others. Shelly shared valuable insights into career opportunities within the construction industry and provided practical advice on job applications, which was greatly appreciated by both students and staff. We are excited about the possibility of continuing this collaboration with Tomlinsons and exploring potential work placements or volunteering opportunities for our students in the future. Thank you once again for your support and for helping us empower our students to achieve their potential. #InclusionMatters #SENDSupport #SLDD #EqualOpportunities #StudentEmpowerment #CareerInspiration #FutureBuilders #ThankYou #EducationMatters Mark Johnson Carl Ara

For International Women’s Day, we were proud to support The Two Counties Trust at their inspiring event at the Museum of Making in Derby. The Trust, which includes 9 secondary schools across Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire, brought together students, staff, and professionals for a day of empowerment and connections. A highlight of the event was hearing from three remarkable guest speakers – the British Army’s all-female team to participate in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. These women made history by rowing unsupported for 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, the empowering of teamwork, resilience, and overcoming incredible challenges. Our Social Value team is honoured to celebrate the significant contribution of women to society, while fostering meaningful conversations with the students (Year 7 – 12). Together, we continue to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders. #IWD2025 #TheTwoCountiesTrust #Inspiration #WomenInConstruction #Careers

We discussed the various skills sets and qualities that employers are looking for as well as some top tips for making the interview process a little less daunting! The students had some great questions, and we hope you all enjoyed the day. #engagement #Nottingham #careers #constructioncareers #apprenticeships

🔊 Progress Update The refurbishment of Stephenson Memorial Hall is progressing well, with some major works now complete. - The external works to St Mary's Gate and Station Back Lane are almost complete, which includes a two-storey extension, providing additional dressing rooms, a workshop and space for props and scenery, helping to assist stage productions. - Restoration of the roof is complete, with all tiles either refurbished or replaced and re-applied, with slating carried out. - External brickwork has undergone a specialist clean and has been re-pointed. - Windows are now being refurbished or replaced, helping to make the building more energy efficient. - Cladding to the first-floor extension on Corporation Street will commence soon. The new link gallery extension will create a gateway impact, improving the sense of arrival to Chesterfield and add education and community spaces to the building. - Inside the building, the first fix mechanical and electrical works are ongoing, along with painting. - Steelwork to the circle and reinforcement to the ceiling is also complete and the new stage is now in place. - The new mezzanine floor which provides a walkway and entrance to the circle seating area is also complete.
