What really goes into designing a hotel brand for the future? 🤔   Holiday Inn Express has taken a bold step with the launch of our ‘Generation 5’ public space design which levels up the brand’s ‘Next Generation’ design introduced in 2016.   Tapping into IHG focus groups across the US, UK, KSA and Japan into guest behaviour, the future of work, entertainment, wellbeing, food & drink, and digital experiences, this research-based design anticipates the needs of our guests and owners all the way to 2030 – and beyond.   What does a smarter stay with Generation 5 look like? - Guest-Centric Innovation: Vibrant, lifestyle-oriented spaces tailored to the evolving desires of modern travellers. - Inclusivity: Designed in collaboration with a disability task force to ensure accessibility and ease of navigation for everyone. - Owner-Focused Flexibility: Scalable designs that remain cost-effective while driving performance and returns.   Holiday Inn Express Next Generation 5 will make its debut in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when Holiday Inn Express Riyadh opens its doors in 2026. But that’s not all - there are 10 projects in the UK and Continental Europe confirmed as early adopters, and a further 20 having expressed interest.

It’s been just over a year since we opened our first Garner hotels property in Seattle - less than three months after the brand’s official launch - and what a year it’s been…   Since becoming our 19th global brand in August 2023, Garner hotels has continued to build momentum through an owner-favourite conversion model, delivering excellent service and putting our guest’s needs at an affordable price point.   What began in the Americas region is now a global success story with 58 of the 76 properties signed in the first half of 2024 coming from European markets, extending the brand’s presence to Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, the UK, and Türkiye. The brand is also soon to be debuting in Japan with three exciting upcoming openings in Osaka. There are now more than 90 open or pipeline Garner hotels around the world, pushing the brand’s progress closer towards a goal of 500 open hotels worldwide in the next 10 years and 1,000 hotels during the next 20. 🌍🈺👐
