We’re incredibly proud of the innovative work coming out of our Northern Ireland team! This trial in Belfast is a shining example of how collaboration and creativity can drive real progress in the fight against single-use plastics. It’s amazing to see our director’s Jacqueline Gibson leadership and expertise making such a tangible impact. Congratulations to everyone involved—this is a fantastic milestone for the #circulareconomy, and we’re excited to see what’s next! Feeling super proud 😊 so why not share sustainability success 👏🏼. 2 years back in NI & #makingimpact in #circulareconomy 📑 Last year I was tasked with providing a solution for ICC (large venue in Belfast) to eliminate single use plastic glasses on drink sales (beer, spirits, wine & mixers). ♻️ I presented a Bring Back Belfast-wide returnable cup scheme, with over 14 venues and festivals onboard. 🚚 I brought to the table (literally), the company who could collect used cups, wash them within 5 miles of the city centre, store and deliver across the city back to venues - North Down Marquees Limited. 🫗 Cup types included Circular&Co. and STACK-CUP™️ using re-universe using RFID technology to track cups across the country! 🤝 Next steps were for Visit Belfast to lead on this project and set up a sustainability forum-the first of which took place in 2024! 🌐 I wanted something that could be replicated across other cities and use local sustainable supply chains with ecological cleaning & transport. A year later it hits the BBC News ❤️ 👏🏼 Congratulations to The ICC Belfast | Waterfront Hall | Ulster Hall for allowing me to take risks, showing true leadership, being open to collaborating with competitors, and to those venues commited to becoming greener. 💪This shows the power of collaboration, seeking out the keen, taking an idea beyond the initial remit, using past experience and networks, going above and beyond, galvanising wider support, showing up, taking the lead, demonstrating and presenting a report in an interactive slide deck format, brainstorming over teams, site visits and doing research on industrial dishwashers! Another impactful report from International Synergies NI Ltd International Synergies Limited #lastinglegacy I of course used the wonderful journey I started at Blenheim Palace to bring a sustainable returnable scheme to NI. Check out how they are leading the way in addressing the single use #coffeecupconundrum in Oxford. #makehistory

We are delighted to share the news that our founder and Chairman Peter Laybourn has been recognised on the New Year’s Honours List for “services to the #GreenEconomy and to #ClimateAction through #IndustrialSymbiosis” Peter received a letter of support from the then-Prince of Wales in the early days of NISP® congratulating International Synergies for all that NISP® was doing to mitigate #climatechange - a lovely recognition at that time, and nice to circle back round to this honour. https://lnkd.in/eDQMMWSJ

Yesterday, International Synergies Limited in partnership with Sustainability West Midlands, delivered a WMRRN Resource Matching Workshop. Event partners Lori Henebury of Birmingham Business Park and Samantha Frampton of the Solihull Chamber of Commerce were also present. Waste is just a resource in the wrong place. Our workshops are designed to enable businesses to understand this and enables businesses to share details of waste/residual resources that they HAVE that another business may WANT. During the resource matching workshop, 38 matches were identified that will see the productive life of resources being extended, generating potential cost savings for businesses, reducing their business carbon footprint and even generating additional sales. #WMIA #WestMidlandsInnovation #WMPlanforGrowth #resource #matching #workshop #cost #carbon #savings Jordan Gerrard Kirstie Blakeman Jay Lad Anna Bright Andy Whyle (FIEMA)
