Two of our brilliant engineering apprentices were presented with three awards at the recent IRTE Bus and Coach Skills Challenge Awards, held at the British Motor Museum ⚡ ⚙ 20-year-old Neave, one of our Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Apprentices, was named best Electric Driveline Apprentice and also received the coveted Judge's Choice Award. 🚌 🛠 Thomas, also 20, is one of our Bodymaker Apprentices and was named best Apprentice Bodymaker. Emma Thompson MSOE, Designate Executive Director at the Society of Operations Engineers, said: “A big congratulations to not just Neave and Thomas but all of the team that took part. The level of skill and passion on display was awe inspiring. We have a brand new bus on the road - a Health Bus! Yesterday our HR Director Rachel James unveiled our brand new Health Bus at the Birmingham Central depot. With a fresh new look it offers free health and wellbeing services to National Express colleagues across the business. The award-winning service has been on the road for 10 years and has seen more than 14,000 colleagues who have benefited from free consultations with a healthcare professional. Each appointment includes checks on weight, BMI, cholesterol and blood glucose - there’s also advice around smoking, alcohol, managing stress and adopting a healthy work-life balance.
