We’ve successfully completed a £17 million multi-phase project that has significantly improved the resilience and operational efficiency of the Cotton Valley Water Recycling Centre in Milton Keynes. The facility serves a substantial population in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas, treating wastewater to stringent regulatory standards before discharge. Working as principal contractor as a member of Anglian Water’s @one Alliance, our project team carried out works to boost the facility’s capacity to manage storm water surges and meet new environmental standards. This included the installation of two glass-coated steel stormwater storage tanks – increasing capacity from 5,795m3, to 20,502m3. It's great to be back at Cotton Valley Water Recycling Centre (WRC) in Milton Keynes, taking a look at our £17 million project! During a visit with Skanska, one of our eight Alliance partners, we saw firsthand how the installation of our 2 new storm tanks have significantly increased the site's storage capacity from 5,795m³ to 20,503m³. Our site manager David Wright also provided us a tour of the three other investments aswell at the WRC, a phosphorus removal project, a digester scheme & terminal pumping station upgrades. We're back at Marston Moretaine in Bedfordshire, checking out our £4 million project at our Water Recycling Centre (WRC)! As well as the storm tank we've recently constructed, we're also installing a new final settlement tank & flow to full system to increase the sites working capacity by 9.3 litres per second! But not only that, Vernon Giblett & the team are optimising the existing controls from the site's terminal pumping station & reducing the levels of phosphorus found in our WRC. One of our suppliers Freeflow Pipesystems recently provided the @one Alliance with a tour of their business; Our colleagues were able to gain an in-depth understanding of Freeflow’s manufacturing processes. From the initial shaping of steel sheets to precision welding and the intricate dipping process that coats & protects the pipes! Seeing these processes in action gave our team a new appreciation for the attention to detail that goes into producing high-quality infrastructure, used across many of our projects. We’re at our Fen Ditton Pump Station near Cambridge Water Recycling Centre, where we invested nearly £1 million! As a result of multiple bursts on the existing 150mm PVC main, our team replaced the main with a new 180mm PE100 pipe, while also installed a 250mm PE sleeve underneath the railway. Alongside our Senior General Manager Justin Seely, we saw our team combining open cut & directional drilling to navigate under the 64km River Cam, while slip-lining through the existing 18” steel sleeve beneath Network Rail crossing. Replacing the main prevents future bursts from impacting our customers and providing a more reliable service for the Anglian Water Services region! #oneAlliance #AnglianWater #FenDitton #Cambridge

We're back at Flag Fen Water Recycling Centre in Peterborough, taking a look at our £10 million storm tank project. The team have been hard at work installing two new 37m diameter x 5.6m tall stainless steel storm tanks, alongside a transformer & a new motor control centre (MCC) kiosk. The tanks will increase our sites capacity by 7,720㎥, bringing the total to 19,625㎥ (or enough to fill nearly 8 Olympic sized swimming pools). The added capacity will not only allow Anglian Water Services to protect against future flooding, but also protect our local wildlife by preserving the water quality of the 142km long River Nene! #oneAlliance #AnglianWater #FlagFen #Peterborough #StormTank

Before we dive into our largest-ever capital delivery portfolio to date, we thought it would be a good time to take a look back at a major project we've delivered for Anglian Water Services. Four years ago, we invested £36 million into Heigham Water Treatment Works, by installing the UK’s largest submerged ultrafiltration plant. And thanks to this footage from Wireless CCTV Ltd, we can see how our team managed to increase our water supply by 15 million litres a day to our region. Not only that, but by utilising Virtual Reality in our design, our project delivery team saved approximately £1.5 million and reduced our operational carbon by an impressive 88%! The @one Digital team recently supported our STEM Education initiative by sponsoring and attending Claire Riseborough’s Step into Tech CIC 2025 in Norwich. Working alongside Norfolk County Council & Norwich University of the Arts, it was the third year of a successful collaboration benefiting all attendees. Over the course of two days, our team challenged 80 young people, aged 8-18, to explore and discuss what the future of water could look like.
