We’re expanding our capabilities with the launch of a new utility surveying service – and leading the charge is Michael Wood. Michael brings two decades of experience in the field, having worked across the UK and internationally. As a Chartered Member of Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES), he’s an expert in mapping underground infrastructure to reduce risk, enhance project efficiency, and improve safety. Last week we took home our first award of 2025 – Best Small New Housing Development at the LABC Awards for our work on The Paddocks in Bramley 🏆 The LABC (Local Authority Building Control) recognised excellent projects and individual contributions within the construction industry across England and Wales.  The Paddocks is a development of four bespoke large family homes situated in a semi-rural location. The properties have a traditional barn/farmhouse design but were built using the latest sustainbility technology to achieve an EPC rating of A - the highest ranking there is. The team also embraced bio-diversity net gain and incorporated ecological features such as bee bricks and bat boxes into the built form 🐝   Ridge provided Lead Designer, Architecture, Civil and Structural Engineering and Cost Management Services on the project. Meet our new Fire Engineering Expert Witness, Christine Leigh BSc (Hons) PGDipSurveying C.Build E FCABE AIFireE 🧯   A highly experienced fire engineer and chartered building engineer, Christine now specialises in providing expert advice and evidence. Christine has an in-depth understanding of fire safety, building design, material performance classifications and technical assessments.  Demand for fire engineering experts is always high due to the rise in fire-related disputes, and we are proud to further bolster our technical offering in this field. Christine will be joining Steve Manchester, our renowned fire safety and explosion expert.
