"Being a father to two daughters in their late teens has been the most important focus of my life. Presenting on University Radio gave me a love of music of all genres which has formed a soundtrack to my life. Maintaining a strong golf handicap was where many years of leisure time with friends have been spent. Cooking outside in the summer months for family and friends and reading for pleasure and to further improve myself use up much of my spare time".

"Starting out on a graduate programme with Britvic Soft Drinks in a variety of quality, product development and manufacturing roles I eventually set up a brand new team responsible for supply quality assurance. I moved to Twinings, part of Associated British Foods, where I led the central technical, quality, and regulatory teams. Eventually taking up a role on the Executive Committee for Tea Supply where I led quality teams across China, India, Poland, and the UK, secured safe and quality assured raw materials and led a regulatory team which supported commercial teams across our global markets to ensure compliant labelling of products. This was characterised by international collaboration, minimal quality issues in market, and significant improvements in consumer quality measures".
