  • We would like to thank our in-house invasive species expert Lee Worrall, for hosting an engaging training session on the formidable Japanese knotweed with our employees! 👷   The session was packed with fascinating insights into the plant's history, showcasing how Japanese knotweed can quickly take root in new areas through natural spread and human activity—whether it's fragments of rhizome or stems being transported to new sites.   Thanks again, Lee for deepening the team's understanding of this invasive plant and the impact it can have on our client’s development sites.   Please reach out if you have any invasive species on your site and would like some expert advice. https://lnkd.in/emj6Ns5j

  • Great to read about all the fantastic developments happening across Tameside! As Project Managers for the Ashton-under-Lyne regeneration, we’re proud to play a role in shaping the future of the borough, creating vibrant spaces and opportunities for the local community. 🌱 🏗️ Regeneration isn’t just about new buildings—it’s about revitalising town centres, boosting the local economy, and making a real difference for businesses and residents. We can’t wait to see these projects come to life! 🙌 https://lnkd.in/eQk5mtAH

  • ♻️ Sustainable Regeneration in Action! ♻️ Great news for Rawtenstall! Rossendale Borough Council is giving a second life to retail kiosks from Ashton Market in Greater Manchester, repurposing them for reuse in the town. Rather than letting these structures go to waste, they’re being reused and recycled, reducing environmental impact while creating new opportunities for local businesses. This fantastic initiative, in partnership with Tameside Council, is a great example of councils working together to build greener, more resourceful communities. The kiosks started arriving last month, and we can’t wait to see them in action! At The LK Group, we’re proud to be the Project Managers leading the regeneration of Ashton-under-Lyne Market and its surrounding public realm. With almost half of our workforce being women from graduates, to directors, we’re committed to reshaping the gender balance in a traditionally male-dominated field. 👷♀️ One inspiring example of leadership and innovation is Emma Khadun, our Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant who has been at the forefront of industry-changing work. Over the past three years, Emma has collaborated with the Society of Brownfield Risk Assessment (SoBRA), Controlled Waters, and Climate Change subgroup, to develop award-winning land contamination guidance. Combining her background in palaeoclimate change research with expertise in controlled waters risk assessment, Emma Khadun has played a key role in advancing industry best practices by contributing to literature reviews, data analysis, and guidance on integrating UKCP18 climate projections into risk assessments. ♻️ Emma has presented her work at well-known international conferences across Edinburgh, and London, and she’s not stopping there as she continues to collaborate on updates to the guidance set to be released later this year. Well done Emma, we’re proud to see you making a real impact! 🙌 #internationalwomensday
