Ospreys return to the Scottish Highlands in late March and early April to breed, seeking ideal homes in areas with pinewoods, rivers, and freshwater lochs. These magnificent raptors pair for life, building their nests - known as eyries - high up in tall trees, most often a Scots pine. 🌲🪹 Their diet is almost entirely fish, including trout, pike, and flounder. 🐟 Did you know? 🤔 Ospreys have special adaptations for their fish-eating lifestyle, like reversible toes to securely grasp slippery fish! Spring is in the air - and so is pollen! 🌿🐝 Pollination is the essential process that allows plants to reproduce, transferring pollen from one flower to another.
