On behalf of Swindon Borough Council, we have secured full planning permission and Listed Building Consent for the latest phase of regeneration at the Carriage Works, Swindon. The approved scheme will create further educational, office and development space as part of the restoration of this important Grade II listed building. We provided expert Planning services for the project, engaging in pre-application discussions and demonstrating the case for a high quality, sensitive and sustainable scheme with significant public benefits. #Planning #Swindon

Work to transform the Carriage Works into a business and educational campus for digital, tech and creative industries is now in its third stage. 🏛️🏗️ Funded by the Government's Towns Fund, work first began back in 2016 and a number of units have already been brought back into use and welcomed new businesses. The Workshed opened in 2018 and offers office space, while also acting as a business incubator for entrepreneurs, pioneers and creative thinkers. As part of this, small offices for between four and 15 people as well as individual co-working desks are available to hire on a licence basis. Those interested should contact info@theworkshed.co.uk to find out more. The Cultural Heritage Institute, run by the Royal Agricultural University, opened in 2020, and was soon followed by an Innovation Centre for Applied Sustainable Technologies (iCAST) unit, operated by the University of Bath. A film-making space for Create Studios opened last year to complete the current offering. All offering a variety of events and activities worth taking a look at. Work on the next phase is due to take place in early 2025 and take approximately 12 months.

Acting on behalf of Vita Group, a detailed planning application has been submitted for Birmingham’s Good Station – the redevelopment of the former Axis Square site into a new, sustainable urban neighbourhood. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eqvVR-tG   We provided expert Planning, EIA, Heritage & Townscape, Economics, and Sustainability services for the proposal, which includes five new buildings designed by award winning architect SimpsonHaugh, set around a new urban garden which establishes a fully accessible route from Navigation Street to Holliday Street.   Over two years, we have worked with Vita Group to evolve its plans for Birmingham’s Goods Station through extensive engagement with the local community, key stakeholders and Birmingham City Council. We will continue to provide expert services, including additional Strategic Communications advice, through to the determination of the application.   If approved, the socio-economic benefits of the site for the city and the wider region are significant.   #GoodsStation #Birmingham #PlanningSubmission

We have contributed to the newly released report from the High Speed Rail Group which outlines the opportunity for private investment to finance the major rail infrastructure that the UK needs for long-term growth. Find out more and read the report here: https://lnkd.in/eb6mC4Va Head of Business Cases and Funding, Andrew Rumfitt authored a section of the report, showing how rail and station investments are a key catalyst for long-term growth, urban transformation and regional connectivity. The report which, alongside Turley, features contributions from Amey, Centrus , Costain Group PLC, KPMG, Lloyd's, HS1 Ltd and Mott MacDonald demonstrates the strong appetite from the rail and investment industry for investing in rail infrastructure. #Infrastructure #RailInvestment #HighSpeedRail
