Yesterday, ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference hosted its Maritime & Logistics conference, where conversations focused on critical issues such as decarbonising the maritime industry and shaping a sustainable future for global supply chains. Discussions centred around green fuels, advanced technology integration, and how the sector can overcome challenges to accelerate towards net zero through collaboration. CEO of V.Services, Robert Desai, joined industry colleagues to discuss “Delivering a low carbon maritime future: making sense of the evolving regulations”, addressing the rapidly changing regulatory landscape that is shaping the maritime industry’s path toward decarbonisation.    The introduction of the FuelEU Maritime and EU ETS regulations are steps towards creating policy which help the maritime industry get closer to its goal of net zero by 2050. At V. we've worked hard to get ahead of the curve, fully understand the implications of the new regulations, and develop services and solutions to support our customers.

Last week, Dimitris Patrikios, MD of V.Ships Greece and Med cluster, chaired the INTERTANKO Hellenic Mediterranean Panel attended by 120 members from over 70 tanker operators and owners in Greece. The panel aims to provide an open forum for INTERTANKO members from Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Monaco, Malta, Spain and Turkey, whilst enhancing member understanding and involvement in the work of INTERTANKO, a trade association that has served as the voice for independent tanker owners since 1970. Sustainability was a focus of last week’s meeting, and V.’s Matt Dunlop, Group Director, Sustainability & Decarbonisation was invited to present on the EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime efforts undertaken by V.Group to date. Last week V. attended the Automated Mutual Assistance Vessel Rescue System (AMVER) Awards in Copenhagen, celebrating the Danish maritime industry’s contribution to global search and rescue operations. The ceremony recognised 97 Danish vessels that earned AMVER awards in 2023, which included two MOL Chemical Tankers vessels managed by Dania Ship Management. The AMVER program, run by the U.S. Coast Guard, enlists commercial ships in a global network ready to assist with rescue missions, often responding in some of the most challenging conditions. Thank you to AMVER for this award.
