About us

As the national tourism agency – a non-departmental public body funded by the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), VisitEngland plays a unique role in developing English tourism through supporting business growth and informing industry with statutory research and insights and engagement activities through events and communications. We provide extensive support for the domestic tourism sector through our business support hub, publications and resources, the Pink Book of Legislation, Quality Assessment Schemes and the annual VisitEngland Awards for Excellence. We also run the annual English Tourism Week and Tourism Superstar campaigns, all of which champion the industry and everyone working within it. VisitEngland/VisitBritain is headed by Chief Executive, Patricia Yates and Nick de Bois CBE is the Chair of the British Tourist Authority.
