💚 𝗚𝗘𝗙𝗘 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽 💚
What an inspiring day at GEFE 2024! Students and industry leaders gathered for an event that celebrated innovation, collaboration, and a shared commitment to sustainability. Here’s a closer look:
𝟭) 𝗚𝗘𝗙𝗘 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: Students tackled real-world challenges from three innovative businesses:
🌿 Eagle Technology AS: Developed strategies to introduce the Víxla system in Vietnam, focusing on sustainable plastic waste management.
🌿 Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH: Created a model using pyrolysis and Terra Preta to transform sludge into valuable, eco-friendly products.
🌿 Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP): Designed a roadmap for launching the Offshore Wind Industry in Vietnam.
After months of hard work, ODYSSEY was crowned the Grand Winner, earning the Fully-funded Future Sustainability Leaders Award from Kuehne Logistics University (KLU).
𝟮) 𝗚𝗘𝗙𝗘 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺:
🌿 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘅 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Prof. Dr. Arne Heinold, Assistant Professor for Transportation at KLU, and Dr. Yuko Yasunaga, Deputy to the Director General and Managing Director at the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), analysed global environmental challenges and government responses.
🌿 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘅 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: Mr. jeanjacques Bouflet, Vice-Chairman at EuroCham, and Mr. Vu Do Khanh, COO of The Policy Lab (POLAB), discussed the unique opportunities and challenges for Vietnamese businesses in promoting sustainability.
🌿 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘅 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Tuyet Trinh, Chief Communications Officer & Sustainable Development at L’Oréal Vietnam, and Ms. Tran Kieu Anh, Founder and CEO at Dong Dong Sai Gon, showcased successful sustainability initiatives.
𝟯) 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸: This panel discussion centred on sustainability, career development, and the importance of authenticity for students and young professionals. Moderated by Dr. Justin Michael Battin, Lecturer at RMIT University, speakers included:

🌿 Ms. Hong Duyen Do Thi, Country Development Manager at BASF Vietnam

𝟰) 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿: Students connected with over 200 leading businesses dedicated to green transitions, exploring various career paths.
𝟱) 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿: Students engaged with universities and organisations from Europe and Vietnam, discovering academic opportunities in sustainability.
