Yesterday at AIGA New York we introduced our volunteer board for 2024 — a dynamic group of leaders, committing their time and energy for our design and creative community. I couldn’t be more honored and humbled to be serving alongside them as Board President for 2024-2026.
➡ Just a few of the ways AIGA New York creates impact:
🧠 Mentorship Program: 112 Mentorship Matches, pairing 224 last year, and 1,146 Mentors and Mentees since launching in 2019
🎓 Education: Deep ties with 10+ Design Programs in NYC, including City and State Universities, and Design Education Institutions supporting students transitioning into the professional world
🌟 Events & Programming: hosting nearly 40+ events with 3,000+ in-person attendees, plus global reach via live-streams
🖐 Volunteer-Powered Non-Profit: All of this is powered by 28 volunteer board members and just one full-time employee, our intrepid Executive Director Stacey Panousopoulos — It’s astounding what the power of community and volunteerism add up to. Some of the folx I’ve been fortunate to learn from, collaborate, and build the future with: Lyanne D., Archie Bell, II, Ashley Brimsted, Chelsea Goldwell, Khoi Uong, Ramy Nagy, Katie Henderson, Shar Biggers, Jessica Moon, Heather-Mariah Dixon, Naeiri Zargarian, Nicole Motta, Ashlyn Stewart Cavitt, Dave Rodriguez, Kate F., Carolyn Thomas, Paulina Alvarado Serrano, Ella Dobson, ana rice, Justin Wong, Troy Vasilakis, Cameron King, Nika Simovich Fisher, Aldo Juraidini, Raven Mo, Danielle Torres, Anthony Harrison, David Werzinger, Cynthia Bryan, Brad Johnson, David Perrin, Kapono Chung, David Schimmel, Meryl Friedman, Eason Yang, Elsa Jenna
As the co-owner of an independent branding agency, I deeply value professional development for designers at all levels, and being involved in AIGA New York has brought a deeper sense of community and learning to my life. Join in as a member, sponsor, donor, or by attending one of our events — let's keep it going!
