Spencer Paul Bagley, VP of Brand Design at Aruliden, Material's award-winning design studio, shares his thoughts on the relationship between brand and product.
Brand can do a lot. But what if it doesn't happen alongside product and business innovation? We asked friends of AUFI Spencer Paul Bagley, John Roescher and Ed Rogers what they think about the boundaries between the two, and why many brands are beginning to rebalance things. "A lot of people silo product and brand, and if we start to unpack the definition of brand it all comes back to experience." – Spencer Paul Bagley It’s simple. Brand is a promise, product is the follow-through." – John Roescher "There is no longer the possibility to ‘out-brand’ real product inadequacy." – Ed Rogers

Continuing our long-standing partnership with WHOOP, we collaborated with STUDIOS Architecture to transform our deep understanding of the WHOOP brand into a vision for their unique headquarters in the heart of Boston. WHOOP’s HQ embodies the brand’s core mission of “Unlocking Human Performance” physically, mentally, and emotionally. The space is centered around a prominent staircase, serving as the humanistic core, fostering connection and blurring the lines between technology and human relationship. Introducing Aruliden x Cécred. We helped Beyoncé bring to life a brand that advances the future of hair care through a combination of cutting-edge science and centuries-old wisdom. Inspired by Ms. Tina’s true and time-tested cocktailing, the singular line helps to rescue, strengthen, and grow hair for all. Aruliden worked to create the packaging for products that are supercharged with the most advanced science and deliver truly powerful care. Primary pack shape language draws cues from ancient architecture, with its stone-like texture balancing technical typography to reinforce the brand’s role as a bridge between hair care’s past, present, and future. Our latest work with Movado launched with an evergreen campaign titled “Connecting The Dots”. The campaign re-introduces Movado as a universal and cultural timekeeper, capturing a diverse array of hands, from all walks of life, all connected by Movado’s iconic watches. Inspired by Movado’s timeless signature: the single dot at 12 o’clock, symbolizing high noon. The campaign connects the dots between the past and the present, unearths stories of the brand and celebrates its radical simplicity, harmony, and iconic quality. Strategically launched before NY Fashion Week, the campaign exists across OOH, digital, and print. #connectingthedots #campaign Full case study here: https://lnkd.in/ez2um2BE _______ Aruliden Team: Caroline Askew, Spencer Paul Bagley, Samantha Moore, Jaein Lee, Cristhian Sabogal, Jaisy Roman, Adriana Ciravegna, Jake Craney Photographer/Director: Julia Noni DoP: Htat Htut 1st AD: Steven Valle Production: Tann Services Styling: Yohana Lebasi Casting: Ricky Michiels Set Design: Matt Cullen Manicurist: Natalie Pavloski Music: Commercial Music Post: Noah Weisfogel, gloss postproduction
