Thank you for spotlighting our President & CEO Rey Saldana! 🎉#HispanicHeritageMonth #MesDeLaHerenciaHispana
Today, in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are thrilled to honor one of our own Communities In Schools National Office President & CEO Rey Saldana.🤩 As a CIS alumnus, his journey is an inspiration to all who are touched by the organization. Born in Texas to Mexican immigrants, he is a product of Title I Texas public schools. His resiliency and hard work eventually led him to Stanford University where he earned two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree from the School of Education where he studied policy, organization and leadership studies. His career has been dedicated to public service, having filled many different roles ranging from professor to chief engagement officer. At the age of 24 he was elected to the San Antonio City Council, the youngest ever in the city’s history. In 2017, he was invited to serve on the CIS National Board, the first alumnus to do so, and in 2020 was named to his current position. He truly epitomizes our slogan of #AllinforKids!
