Cultural, social and spiritual beliefs often prevent Black, Indigenous or other people of color from talking about mental health. As a result, those who need mental health care often neglect to get treatment. During National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, take time to get the facts about mental health, and realize that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Visit https://lnkd.in/gaYP2mwX or https://lnkd.in/gWumUZM for a wealth of resources. Of course, we are always here to help. Visit www.cssbh.org/get-started.

While our offices were closed for Juneteenth on Wednesday, we had a great time celebrating with a staff potluck earlier in the week. We had so much staff participation, with many foods related to the holiday and its history. We hope everyone had a chance to enjoy celebrating! #Juneteenth

Congratulations to CSS' newest graduates and trainers of the Recovery Enhancement Practices (REP) program! The Recovery Enhancement Practices for Psychosis Program (REP) is a partnership with Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) Best Practices in Schizophrenia Treatment (BeST) Center with support from the County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board. REP aims to improve client outcomes and staff retention. Training provides entry level case managers with practical skills and knowledge in recovery-oriented treatment for those experiencing psychosis. Participants dedicate a year to the program, which includes an intensive two-day training and biweekly meetings with ongoing training, consultation and feedback. #retention #learning

Good information and LGBTQ+ mental health resources from our friends at NAMI! #pride #lgbtq+ #mentalhealth
Although the full range of LGBTQ+ identities are not commonly included in large-scale studies of mental health, there is strong evidence from recent research that members of this community are at a higher risk for experiencing mental health conditions — especially depression and anxiety disorders. LGB adults are more than twice as likely as heterosexual adults to experience a mental health condition. Transgender individuals are nearly four times as likely as cisgender individuals to experience a mental health condition. Visit the NAMI website to learn more about mental health and the LGBTQ+ community, and discover invaluable resources. https://lnkd.in/e6jjBrmb

Our CCBHC leadership team gained valuable insight while in Chicago for the CCBHC-E Program Midwest Regional Grantee meeting last week. CCBHC Director Kim Meals, Manager Terri Shavers and Evaluator Jessica Clemons learned about innovative practices in addition to networking with other organizations from the region. The team also was joined by members of SAMHSA and the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, who offered technical assistance. A great opportunity to further enhance our CCBHC efforts! #innovation #growth #CCBHC
