Along with a coalition of environmental advocacy groups—Environmental Working Group, Earthjustice, FarmSTAND, and Animal Legal Defense Fund —we're suing Tyson Foods for cynically capitalizing on consumers' desire for a healthier planet. The complaint alleges that Tyson engaged in "greenwashing," making misleading claims about Tyson's climate impact. With this suit, we join our environmental partners in sending a clear message to industry: a commitment to the environment means more than just saying so. Nationally recognized leader in plaintiffs’ class action, mass action, and governmental litigation
About us
EDELSON PC is a law firm concentrating on high-stake’s plaintiff’s work ranging from class and mass actions to public client investigations and prosecutions. The cases we have litigated -- as either lead counsel or as part of a broader leadership structure -- have resulted in settlements and verdicts totalling over $20 billion. We hold records for the largest jury verdict in a privacy case ($925m), the largest consumer privacy settlement ($650m), and the largest TCPA settlement ($76m). We also secured one of the most important consumer privacy decisions in the U.S. Supreme Court (Robins v. Spokeo). Our class actions, brought against the national banks in the wake of the housing collapse, restored over $5 billion in home equity credit lines. We served as counsel to a member of the 11-person Tort Claimant’s Committee in the PG&E Bankruptcy, resulting in an historic $13.5 billion settlement. We successfully represented dozens of family members who lost loved ones in the Boeing 737-Max plane crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia. We are the only firm to have established that online apps can constitute illegal gambling under state law, resulting in settlements that collectively are worth $200 million. We are co-lead counsel in the NCAA personal injury concussion cases, leading an MDL involving over 300 class action lawsuits. And we are representing, or have represented, regulators in cases involving the deceptive marketing of opioids, environmental cases, privacy cases against Facebook, Uber, Google and others, cases related to the marketing of e-cigarettes to children, and cases asserting claims that energy companies and for-profit hospitals abused the public trust.

Just when you thought it was all pickleball and polar bears, we snag the Trial Strategy Innovation award from the Elite Trial Lawyers (ETL) Awards on Thursday night! The ETL recognized our groundbreaking work on behalf of the class arising from the Labor Day 2020 Wildfires, where we won a historic liability trial for an entire class and $220 million so far in verdicts against PacifiCorp. So excited, too, for Lauren Blazing, Megan Delurey, and Schuyler Ufkes, who won awards as Rising Stars of the Plaintiffs Bar for their ace work in the legal field. 🌟🌟🌟 #RisingStars #ThatsAPickleBallReference

We're not the kind of law firm that wears tuxedos, but for this we'll make an exception. Our founder, Jay Edelson, is getting the Illinois Bar Foundation Distinguished Award for Excellence for his career raising the bar in plaintiffs' law. We’re really proud of this recognition of the reform wing of the plaintiffs' bar (and Jay's the first class action lawyer to ever get this award). We'll be bringing some polar (sp)ice to the Gala too—all fun, promise. SAVE THE DATE: October 18 at the Old Post Office!
It's the 🐻❄️ opposite of our usual Gala. This year, we're honoring Jay Edelson of Edelson PC! Expect a fresh take, some curveballs, & maybe even... a (harmless) video? SAVE THE DATE to join us on October 18 at the Old Post Office. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities will be available soon!

We filed a class action lawsuit today on behalf of Columbia students who have been displaced from campus because the school could not guarantee their safety. The complaint is here: https://lnkd.in/gmRvWwWZ. All Columbia students deserve the right to safely complete this semester in person with the rest of the student body, free from harassment and discrimination. Unfortunately, our suit alleges that the university has failed to secure the safety of its students, particularly its Jewish students, who have been subject to harassment and threats from a small group of people in the protests inciting violence. It is the university's responsibility to ensure all students feel safe, welcomed and supported on campus. Our suit alleges it needs to enforce its policies and let students feel free to study, take finals and otherwise be students without worrying they will be assaulted. We are proceeding on a breach of contract theory and are seeking immediate injunctive relief.
