Prime Day. Black Friday. Cyber Monday. Turkey 5 (or is it 11 or 12 now???). Prime Big Deal Days. Target Circle Week. The list of tentpole events goes on and each year, it seems to grow. They’re key moments on the calendar that bring increased traffic and high shopper intent that can translate into a burst of revenue for brands. But they can offer so much more than that couple days of spike in revenue. This week on the Ecommerce Braintrust podcast I’m joined by Ash McMullen of Advantice Health and Stephanie Grubert of Torani (R. Torre & Co.) to discuss tentpole events and how brands cannot only capitalize on the initial surge in traffic and sales that it provides but also convert that into sustained growth and customer engagement, extending the benefits of the event well beyond its conclusion. Among the topics Stephanie, Ash and I discuss are metrics brands can monitor to measure the effectiveness of their strategies for the event. Understanding success measurements post-event, such as new to brand and top-line sales is crucial. Brands should look beyond immediate metrics to gauge if new to brand customers convert to repeat purchasers, improving your customer lifetime value. By analyzing metrics like new subscriptions, brands can adjust future approaches to improve customer loyalty and retention.
