The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a global service provider in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development dedicated to shaping a future worth living around the world. We are honoured to support the Africa CDC NPHI Meeting for the Southern Africa Region held in Windhoek, Namibia. This meeting marked a significant step forward in achieving Africa CDC’s goal of strengthening National Public Health Institutes (NPHIs) in member states that currently have one, and assisting with establishing one in member states that do not. This crucial meeting provided a platform for each NPHI to present their current development status, key achievements, and gaps. The deep discussions that ensued allowed participants to seek advice, present best practices, and share experiences. The meeting culminated in the development of an action plan and action tracker to fast-track the NPHI establishment process and address the gaps in each member state in the region. Together, we are working towards a stronger and more resilient public health infrastructure across Africa. #NPHIs #NewPublicHealthOrder #SouthernAfricaRCC #Collaboration #Africa
Africa CDC brings together National Public Health Institute (NPHI)Directors and Ministries of Health representatives for a three-day meeting in Namibia, to discuss progress on establishment of NPHIs in Southern Africa. To date, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe are all at different stages of developing their NPHIs, while Angola, Mozambique and Zambia have fully established and functional NPHIs. #NPHIs are an integral part of strengthening continental health security and consolidating key public health assets by serving as the focal point for international health regulations, coordinating resources to meet national health priorities, setting public health priorities for Member States, providing public health emergency coordination and generating evidence-based policies. Member States at varying stages of establishment will update the region on progress and share information, experiences and best practices. GIZ African Union

An insightful and productive workshop on enhancing disaster resilience in Homa Bay County, Kenya! How do we ensure civil society's active participation in transitional justice (TJ) processes?
