CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY, The Holmberg Way Each year at our holiday party, we spotlight a local non-profit/charity. Paws for Purple Hearts stole the show for 2024's big event! Our CEO, Jeff White, welcomed Olivia (puppy) and her trainer, Cassidy (right), along with Sonja with PPH on the stage as we raised money for this Tacoma-based organization. They train dogs to help Veterans with mobility issues and/or PTSD in their daily lives. The training process is lengthy, typically 24 months. When they graduate, the dogs know upwards of 150 commands. Thank you Paws for Purple Hearts for the important work to support Veterans! It's always fun to see projects you've been working on get a shout out in the local news. I'm working on the replacement of the existing Elevators and Escalators at the Sound Transit International District Light Rail Station. This is the first of many planned vertical transportation modernization projects for Sound Transit. We've been in the planning and material ordering stage for months but broke ground the last week of October starting the first of four phases. I'm looking forward to working with Sound Transit, Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.), Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company, Prime Electric, Holmberg Mechanical, Long Painting Company, Albireo Energy Pacific Northwest Division, SCHONERT & ASSOCIATES, INC., J&S masonry, OAC Services, Inc. and WSP on this project.

Go Team HOLMBERG! "Holmies on the Run" are still smiling (and a little sore) from their first Ragnar Trail Runner on Mt. Rainier, the most challenging Ragnar in the country. 8 runners, 3 legs each, nearly 16 miles, 4500 feet of elevation gain, a runner on course around the clock until everyone was finished. It was rainy, foggy, muddy, and slippery.
