We need to do a better job communicating how amazing it is to build a career in hospitality if we want to attract more people into our industry. The most recent American Hotel & Lodging Association survey showed more than three-quarters of hotels are experiencing a staffing shortage - even though the industry has been increasing pay, benefits, and perks to attract more people to work in hotels. I was talking about all of this recently with Dino Michael, Hilton's Global Category Head of Luxury, who oversees the strategic growth and positioning for its Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, and LXR brands - and decided that rather than us just saying it's an amazing industry to work in, it would be better to show that by sharing Dino's own story, which I found really interesting. 🎧 Listen now on the Hospitality Daily Podcast: https://lnkd.in/gKyV9pXJ I'd love for you to listen to Dino share this - not only because I think you'll find it interesting but I think it will inspire you to stay in this business and build your own career here - but also so you can be a better advocate for hospitality careers to others. To me, it was clear talking with Dino that his family and life experiences early on were very formative in the work he's doing today. You'll hear how he's connected all the experiences over his career - from being a server in Planet Hollywood to leading iconic luxury brands today. He also shares some things he's learned working directly with Hilton CEO Chris Nassetta that I found fascinating—it's a look behind the scenes at how they operate and a glimpse into the organization that was named the best company to work for—not just in hospitality but across industries. There's so much to learn from Dino, so listen to him now on the Hospitality Daily Podcast: https://lnkd.in/gKyV9pXJ ➕ Follow Hospitality Daily for daily inspiration you can act on (including another episode with Dino tomorrow all about using technology to enhance the guest experience)
