Introducing Cartwheel! Our new text-to-animation tool. I've animated my whole career, but the tools have barely changed. When I ran my own studio nearly every inbound client request had a budget 1/10th of what their vision would actually cost. And 3D animation is hard. 3D character animation ESPECIALLY. So, we're building a simple browser based tool to make animating easier — by quickly generating animations. And, the best part is they're editable. The goal is to empower creative folks, from novices to full blown professional animators. Our system is still pretty early, but can generate lots of cool motions for you. Put them in your videos, games, movies, ads, VR apps — or, because it's so easy you can use them in your presentations, websites, or even chats. Export them to use in any 3D program, put the motion on to different characters, make videos, use them in tandem with other AI tools, or just play around. It's kind of like directing an actor. We're a team of animators and engineers from the creative industry. My co-founder Andrew Carr, myself, and the rest of our team have been working really hard on Cartwheel and we're excited to finally start talking about it! We’ve always looked up to Human Ventures as one of the best positioned and well-branded studios in the world. Plus, their portfolio speaks for itself. Then, we had the pleasure of meeting Joe Marchese, their first LP, a few years ago. Joe has an impressive and inspiring story. He sold a company to 20th Century Fox and invested a large chunk of his proceeds into the first iteration of Human Ventures. He later become a GP and is now working closely with Heather Hartnett and the rest of the team on a handful of their portfolio companies. Joe is world-class in branding, storytelling, and earning real estate in what he calls “the attention economy”. Candidly, when we reached out to him to ask him to come on show, we didn’t know what we would talk about. There were simply too many topics to pick from. We're very excited to share this week’s special episode of The Gallery where we dove deep on a handful topics, ranging from Human’s origin stories, to how he and Heather raised their first fund, to the importance of branding for building a studio and new ventures.
