🌍 Strengthening Trust in Sustainability Reporting and Assurance 🌍 The International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) and International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) issued the Global Ethics Sustainability Standards and ISSA 5000 to set a global benchmark for sustainability reporting and assurance. This week, we were excited to release new implementation materials to support practitioners and the sustainability disclosure ecosystem as they adopt these landmark standards. Here’s what’s new: ✅ Implementation support: Guidance materials, FAQs, and videos to help practitioners navigate ISSA 5000 and IESSA effectively. ✅ Joint fact sheet: A clear, concise overview of how these standards work together to provide a unified approach to sustainability assurance. ✅ Digital resources: Centralized content on a joint web page as well as specialized web pages to ensure easy access to materials and ongoing updates. At the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA), this year has been pivotal in laying the groundwork for impactful initiatives: 🌍 Sustainability: Leading the charge and setting a global benchmark for ethical behavior and independence in sustainability reporting and assurance. 💡 Technology: Exploring the ethical implications of innovation to promote responsible practices in the public interest. 🏛️ Governance and Accountability: Fact-finding to support the development of ethical leadership and governance standards in 2025. 2024 has been a year of milestones, both professionally and personally, and a year of preparation for what’s next.
