What a week! 📰 Really thrilled to have our efforts at Sunfish to support Alabama patients covered by the The Wall Street Journal... but sad that the reason we are needed there is the wild political situation going on. The WSJ asked me for my take on the impact the Alabama ruling could have on the #fertility industry, here is my take: 1) Even if some fertility treatments need to shift to states with more favorable laws, this is already the case for #surrogacy, abortion, and other reproductive health issues -- and it hasn't slowed growth for the industry. 2) Demand for fertility and assisted reproduction services isn't going anywhere. Fertility rates are on the decline due to environmental pollutants, family building is delayed til later, and LGBTQ+ families are on the rise. Legal changes like this could bring up prices, but the need and demand for this is something I see first hand every day at Sunfish. People do what it takes to have a baby.
