This grant allows us to provide the support they need to succeed—not just in school, but in life.” - Marissa Castro Mikoy
📢 Big news for Dallas! For the first time ever, a Promise Neighborhoods Grant has been awarded in Dallas– and it’s the first in Texas in more than a decade! 🎉 Jubilee Park & Community Center has secured a $992,003 grant from the U.S. Department of Education. It is one of only seven awarded nationwide this year. This funding will fuel the Jubilee Park Promise Neighborhood Initiative (PNI), providing cradle-to-career support for students in Southeast Dallas. From early childhood to higher education and career success, this initiative is a game-changer. This is more than a grant– it’s a promise of real opportunity aimed at breaking cycles of generational poverty. 💙 Other partners include Dallas Independent School District, Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas, Head Start of Greater Dallas, SMU Simmons School of Education & Human Development, Dallas Police Department, and Child Poverty Action Lab (CPAL).
