Join us as we prepare for World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW), taking place from November 18th to 24th! WAAW is a global campaign led by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness and understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The theme for WAAW 2024 is “Educate. Advocate. Act now.” Engaging in WAAW is key for communicating best practices for combatting AMR to the public, One Health stakeholders, and policymakers, all key actors in the fight against AMR.  In our commitment to educate, advocate, and act now, the USAID Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program will be sharing some of our key contributions towards combatting AMR in lower- and middle-income countries (LMICs) around the world. I’m grateful for the privilege of traveling with the Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies board, program committee, and colleagues for the annual site visit. This year, we had the joy of visiting Guatemala. We’ve spent time with our International Health team, led by Alicia Fitzpatrick, visiting partners and communities at Maya Health Alliance | Wuqu' Kawoq and Management Sciences for Health. Followed by our Disaster Relief team, led by Mark Lindberg, working with the American Red Cross, CARE, Oxfam America, and Catholic Relief Services It’s been an inspiring and humbling learning experience.

The “Healthy Women, Healthy Families” project in Bangladesh organized a dissemination event of the project evaluation on October 27, 2024. After completing 32 months of intervention. The project achieved some significant results, especially on increasing knowledge level and better health seeking behaviors through Group Model of ANC-PNC. Results were shared with representatives of Government, UN Bodies, INGOs and Civil Society organizations. Attendees were excited by seeing the result and stated the need of scaling up and committed their support for further implementation in both public -private sector for both Urban and Rural Areas.Management Sciences for Health
