As demand for clean energy solutions rises, today’s electricity generators need a reliable, flexible solution to help achieve their decarbonization goals. Peaker plants and gas turbines have always been well-positioned to help balance the rising demand for energy. But now they're essential to the energy grids of tomorrow. With renewables playing a larger role in the energy mix, peakers can help bridge the gap between more variable energy sources and peak demand times, helping create a grid that’s more efficient, flexible, and reliable above all else. Download our Utility Dive Playbook to learn how the ramp up of peaker plants is a key solution for navigating the energy transition: https://lnkd.in/embqtbDE #MitsubishiPower #EnergyTransition #GasTurbine #PowerPlant #Utilities

Hydrogen is positioned to be a major player in the energy transition, particularly in hard-to-electrify industries. In this article, our hydrogen experts conduct a thought exercise examining how the solar market's growth in the early 2000s can provide exploratory consideration as we begin the same process with electrolyzers in the hydrogen market: https://lnkd.in/eD2MisZU #MitsubishiPower #Hydrogen #EnergyTransition #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy #PowerGeneration

#MitsubishiPower is advancing next-generation energy technologies for decarbonization at two facilities in Japan. By collaborating closely between Takasago and Nagasaki, Mitsubishi Power aims to support the transition to a hydrogen society. 🔵Takasago Hydrogen Park (Takasago City, Hyogo Prefecture) This integrated facility is verifying technologies for hydrogen production, storage, and power generation for the rapid commercialization of #hydrogen #gasturbines. Hydrogen single-firing and co-firing are being tested in actual gas turbines for power generation to improve product reliability. 🔴Nagasaki Carbon Neutral Park (Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture) This facility is a base for technology development related to energy decarbonization, which is producing biomass fuel and developing ammonia firing technologies in addition to hydrogen production. Key technologies developed here are being used for demonstration of hydrogen production and hydrogen power generation at Takasago Hydrogen Park. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gRwTcKKH

Delivering the energy transition is an existential challenge. And most importantly, our responsibility. 💡 On a panel today at the Reuters Events Energy Transition 2024 conference, our President and CEO, Bill Newsom, and fellow panelists Heather Polinsky, PMP, F. SAME, Dave Carroll, Zhanna Golodryga, and Marc Chabot, discussed how the pace of growth - at an eye opening rate of 6% - requires more innovation, investment, and talent than ever before. A common thread was the need for strong partnerships because it’s clear there is no one technology or company that can solve this challenge. 🌐 #GET24 #energytransition #netzero #cleanenergy #MitsubishiPower

🎉 For International Women in Engineering Day, we’re celebrating #engineers like Mitsubishi Power’s Tomoko Morikawa, who are vital to developing the solutions that will power the #energytransition. Early in her career, Morikawa-san was eager to use technology and machines to make a positive impact on the world. “I was captivated by the advanced nature of the individual technologies, the complex balance of each element, and the potential to have a significant contribution to society.” Today, Morikawa-san leads a diverse team of engineers collaborating on some of the most promising solutions that make decarbonization possible, from bridging technical aspects of gas turbine technology with the #energytransition to hydrogen production. As a mother, Morikawa-san is driven to ensure a brighter future for generations to come by harnessing the power of technology to address global environmental issues. “Our job is to take an idea for solving a social problem, which has no form, and turn it into an actual form with weight and dimensions – and implement it in society. I would like to see a world where more females aspire to become engineers.” 👷 #INWED24 #womeninengineering #MitsubishiPower
