Nucleate is a free, trainee-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering the next generation of biotech leaders. As a global organization, we democratize biotech education, spark new intellectual communities, and build bridges within and across ecosystems by providing open-access programming, events and resources.

    We are thrilled to announce the release of our first Impact Report: 5 Years of Nucleate! 📈 This is the story and data behind Nucleate: how we started, expanded globally, and most importantly, the impact made through our unique high-quality initiatives - created and driven by our academic trainee leaders with the support of our partners. During the first 5 years of Nucleate’s existence, the organization rapidly grew from a student-led program at the Harvard Biotech Club to a global 501(c)(3) non-profit with 41 chapters across 20+ countries, operating 15 programs that have empowered over 255 teams globally to raise $370M in funds.     Our second keynote speaker for the 2024 Nucleate Summit is Dr. Alexander Titus, a Commissioner on the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology. Commissioner Titus is a technology leader working at the intersection of data science and biotechnology. His career has woven between the private sector, public sector, and academia, he is currently a Principal Scientist with USC’s Information Sciences Institute. Commissioner Titus was previously the VP of Strategy and Computational Sciences at Colossal Bioscience, where his team worked cross-functionally to provide AI/ML and genotype-to-phenotype analyses to make de-extinction a reality. Commissioner Titus joined Colossal from Google Cloud, where his work as a strategic business executive included leading AI/ML and life sciences solution work for the global public sector. Previously, Commissioner Titus was the inaugural Assistant Director for Biotechnology within the Office of the CTO at the Department of Defense, leading the DoD’s roadmap toward biotechnology modernization. He is also the founder of Bioeconomy.XYZ, an online publication focused on making biotechnology and the bioeconomy accessible to the general public. Throughout his career, Commissioner Titus has served as an AI/ML Research Fellow on the Amazon Alexa AI team as well as in the B.Next group at the strategic investment firm In-Q-Tel, and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Biostatistics at Georgetown University and Biotechnology at the University of New Hampshire.
