Great to hear Ozgur Pulat, PhD's story of moving from Texas to Germany whilst working at OneSubsea. At OneSubsea we encourage everyone to challenge themselves and expand their comfort zone. This is the kind of mindset and culture that helps us grow as people and professionals. Thank you for sharing, Ozgur! These are the success stories that we love to see!

Technology Manager | Culture Champion | People Advocate | Motivator | Leader

Wow, what a journey it has been! Recently my family and I returned to our home state of Texas after living and working in Germany and the UK for over 6 years! After this experience, I can confidently say I return "home" as a different person with an expanded mindset. Here are some of the key things I learned along the way. 🔷 One size does not fit all. One of the biggest things I had to learn was how to be a more dynamic leader. Managing in different cultures and different environments really stretched me to find different ways to motivate and inspire. What may work in one location doesn’t always work in another. Be flexible. 🔷 Take time to learn. Each team in each location had its own biology, with different needs. Instead of coming into a new place with a pre-conceived notion of what I would do, taking time to understand the people and the needs of that location always paid dividends. It became less about implementing my ideas, but more about listening, empowering, and supporting. 🔷 Failure is not fatal, nor final. Fear of not fulfilling the needs of each group can be daunting. You must learn to rise above the fear and see each challenge as an opportunity. Learn from mistakes and leave each team and location better than when you arrived. 🔷 Culture matters. Each location I’ve worked in had its own unique culture. I’ve learned that change leadership is not about changing a culture to fit your expectations. It’s about immersing yourself in the existing culture, establishing trust, and growing a new and better culture organically. That has staying power, even after you move on to new challenges. 🔷 Diversity is powerful. I’ve worked in locations that were more diverse than others, and what I’ve learned is that diversity on all levels (thought, background, sex, race, etc..) is the engine of truly innovative groups. It is amazing what can happen when you welcome in diversity of thought. Creativity blossoms and self-confidence takes root. There is no longer “one way” to get it done, but many other ways, and people become confident to challenge the norms. 🔷 Celebrate small wins. Truth is that 3-4 years in a location is not enough to get everything done that you want to. It leaves you with a feeling that things are incomplete. But if you can affect change in enough ways, that results in movement, and mass and movement have powerful inertia. There were so many other things I learned along the way, and I couldn’t capture it all in one post. But I know that I never would have had the opportunity had it not been for a trusting leadership team, and a company mindset that we are better when we challenge ourselves to go outside of our comfort zone. This is the mindset and culture of SLB and OneSubsea. I would encourage anyone that has the opportunity to work abroad to do so. It isn’t the easiest path, but for us, it was the most rewarding path. And these experiences will shape the rest of the steps I take from here in each and every role I am in.

Celebrating 25 Years of Excellence at Barrow-in-Furness! 🎉   Last week, our Barrow-in-Furness location hit a major milestone—25 years of innovation and success. Our CEO, Mads Hjelmeland, had the pleasure of joining the Diamould team to celebrate this incredible journey. Reflecting on the legacy of Diamould Connectors, it's inspiring to remember how four founders started the company developing new product technology out of a garage in the late 1990s. Diamould was founded to revolutionize connector designs and “correct the wrongs” in existing products. Their mission has propelled us forward for a quarter of a century! 🚀 Today, the Diamould team continues to expand the frontiers of technology, now on the brink of qualifying our first fiber optic connector. The future looks bright with significant investments; increasing our manufacturing capacity by 500%, and driving lead times down by an order of magnitude. We’re also strengthening partnerships, with exciting upcoming qualifications and new technical solutions for some of our key customers. 💎 A special thank you to Maria Korsmo, Titas Bhattacharya, Hollie Orr, Sean Adams, John Austins, and Craig Savage for the warm welcome and insightful discussions, celebrating this great milestone the true OneSubsea way. As Mads said, "Reflecting on the journey of Barrow-in-Furness, I want to congratulate and recognize the many talented individuals who have contributed to its success. So, here’s to an incredible 25 years and to many more successes ahead!" For sure, the Diamould Connectors are our connectors-of-choice, seamlessly integrating into the innovative solutions we provide for our customers worldwide. Their dedication to excellence ensures that we continue to lead the way in connector technology. Here’s to the dedicated team at Barrow and to many more years of delivering top-notch solutions to our customers! 🌟   #FutureForward #Teamwork #BarrowInFurness

Exciting News! 🌍 We've secured a new contract from TotalEnergies for the Kaminho project, offshore Angola. We’ll provide 13 SPS well-sets plus associated equipment and services, helping to advance the Cameia and Golfinho discoveries. “We are excited for this opportunity to unlock the large potential of the Kaminho project together with TotalEnergies,” said Mads Hjelmeland, CEO of OneSubsea. “Our collaborative contract model enables us to leverage both standardization and highly configurable subsea production platforms, creating greater efficiencies and long-term value for this and future projects in Angola and around the world.” The Kaminho project is the first large deepwater development in the Kwanza basin, opening up a new energy source frontier for Angola. Designed to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and eliminate routine flaring, the project will fully re-inject the associated gas into the reservoirs. Production start-up is expected in 2028, with a plateau of 70,000 barrels of oil per day. 👏 Equally important, the project will involve over 10 million man-hours in Angola, mainly with offshore operations and construction at local yards. We at OneSubsea will play a significant role in these positive ripple effects, including local assembly, manufacturing of modules, installation, commissioning, and life-of-field services. Stay tuned as we continue to drive the new subsea era of innovation and sustainability in offshore energy. 🚀 Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/eKSbERiw #SubseaTechnology #OffshoreOperations #EnergyInnovation

Today, we're thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded the FEED for the Fram Sør field, offshore Norway by Equinor! What’s more, the award also includes a single source EPC option for OneSubsea, conditional on a final investment decision. 🌊 This is such an incredible milestone, as it marks the world’s first-ever, large scale all-electric Subsea Production Systems (SPS) project. With its 12-well scope, Fram Sør will pave the way for accelerated industry-wide adoption of all-electric subsea technology, which is a crucial enabler for expanding the frontiers of tie-backs, including helping to make more marginal fields viable. OneSubsea has a long heritage in subsea electrification, and we see this project as a major step forward towards maturing and industrializing this technology for the industry. And, we’re excited to be part of setting a new standard for subsea electrification, which promises increased operator control, enhanced efficiency, and reduced emissions. 🚀 Born from a joint industry project (JIP) launched in 2018, this initiative represents a major leap forward in subsea technology. As Mads Hjelmeland, CEO of OneSubsea, says, "Electrification is vital to the future of subsea operations in the energy transition. Our technology essentially creates the IoT for subsea trees, providing operators with live performance and condition monitoring." A huge thank you to Equinor for the journey so far. Also, a special thank you to the other JIP members TotalEnergiesThe Research Council of NorwayWintershall DeaOMVVår Energi and Aker BP ASA for their support, as well as to our incredible development TEAM who contributed to this great achievement. Last, but not least a big thank you to our colleagues at Aker Solutions for the many years of collaboration, especially the Tranby team! The Fram Sør solution uses OneSubsea’s standard subsea tree design, upgraded with a fully electrified power, control and actuation system, with the same standard interfaces and tooling as traditional trees resulting in significant efficiency gains across new and existing fields. We’re proud to drive this new subsea era together.🤝 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gbJ66E-3   #SubseaInnovation #EnergyTransition #Sustainability
