Yesterday, our team provided constituent services at the Southeast Public Library as part of our Legislative Library Sessions! This is our last library session of the summer! Thank you to Orange County Library System for the annual summer partnership. 📚 [ID]: 5 members of our team sitting at our resource table, which has a collection of pamphlets for community members.

  • Meet Kali Anthony, Branch Outreach Specialist 👋 Hi there! My name is Kali Anthony and I am the Outreach Specialist for Alafaya Branch. As a former “library kid” myself, I am incredibly passionate about the library and all the amazing services we provide. I spent every summer of my childhood learning and growing at my local library and knew all the employees by name. It’s been a total full circle moment for me to be able to facilitate engaging experiences for children and families in our community through library outreach. When I’m not hosting trivia with seniors, providing a pop-up library, executing a STEM challenge or visiting local schools with a storytime, you can find me hunting down records for my vinyl collection, exploring national parks with my partner, trying to perfect a new recipe or cuddling with my cat, Meeko. Getting to connect with our community over the past year in this role has been such a gift. I love getting to hear your stories about how the library has impacted you. I believe that libraries are cornerstones of our communities, and I love helping folks figure out which service, class, program or material can benefit them the most. Keep an eye out for me in east Orlando … I’ll meet you there! 📍

  • Meet Natasha Rosa, Branch Outreach Specialist 👋 Hello, everyone! I’m Natasha, and I’ve been part of the OCLS team for over five years. In March 2023, I started an exciting new journey as an Outreach Specialist, serving the wonderful residents of North Orange. In this role, I’ve had the chance to dive into what our community needs and loves. This has led me to organize fun bilingual events for kids and host events to boost literacy and academic support for all ages. I’ve created bilingual content to help young native Spanish speakers learn English vocabulary and teamed up with local hospitals to provide essential resources for families and children in a warm and welcoming environment. The best part of my job? Meeting you and hearing your stories. Your experiences and the positive impact of our programs inspire me every day. See you soon!

  • Meet Arthur Ugalde, Branch Outreach Specialist 👋 Greetings! My name is Arthur, and I am a proud member of the Community Engagement Department here at OCLS. As your friendly neighborhood outreach specialist, I wanted you to know more about me. I’m a huge science nerd with a love of horror movies and video games. I have been teaching science and providing outreach throughout our community for a decade and currently work out of South Trail Branch to bring services all over the county. Some of my proudest outreach moments include the creation of “Library Take Over Day” at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, where every three months library staff provide activities, storytimes and educational fun to all patients and their families for an entire day! As an outreach specialist, I get to bring everything OCLS has to offer and more to help make our community the best it can be. I wear my library swag with pride! Contact your nearest library to find out how to access your nearest outreach specialist! It might even be me
