Two years ago, RXR set out to recognize the enslaved people who lived in New Rochelle with a request for creatives to write a poem that best encapsulates the city’s rich history. That review process ultimately resulted in the selection of Rashaun J. A.'s moving poem titled “Unforget” to be physically commemorated in Downtown New Rochelle for generations to come. Last week, on the last day of Black History Month, we had the distinct pleasure of partnering with The Lincoln Park Conservancy, Inc and City of New Rochelle to honor the lives of the enslaved African American people in New Rochelle with a ceremony unveiling Rashaun’s poem on a permanent plaque at One Clinton Park. As the Master Developer enhancing the living experience in downtown New Rochelle, we are extremely grateful for this opportunity to collaborate with and uplift the wider community. Over the last two years, I've characterized the sudden shift from historically low borrowing costs to a significantly higher interest-rate environment as "crossing the chasm" — sending shockwaves through the commercial real estate world, challenging owners, investors, and banks to adapt.
