We are proud to have recently supported CLTRE's First-time Home Buyer program! The cohort of 20 individuals participated in a 6-week intensive program, including literacy education and down payment assistance with support from U.S. Bank. "The program is a shining example of philanthropy, community, and the public and private sector working at its best," our Chief Impact & Strategy Officer Niva Flor shared. "It impacts more than just the individual in the program. Several graduates brought their families, their kids, their moms and dads on the stage when they received their certificates. Purchasing a home means a better life and greater opportunity for their entire family."

Words can’t express the feeling seeing the smiles on the families faces as they come up and take a picture with their check. Congrats to all of tonight’s 40 under 40 honorees, especially Vasey Coman. She shapes the communications at Sacramento Region Community Foundation, lifts up everyone she encounters, challenges us all to do better, and always knocks it out of the park with fashion. I’m so honored to serve alongside of you at the Foundation. #40Under40 Sacramento Business Journal

The Philanthropy Summit lasted for a day, but our work started way before that! Many thanks to our stellar staff and our amazing community partners who helped us prepare for our inaugural event. Here are just a few glimpses into our world leading up to the Philanthropy Summit: ✨ Fatima from the Del Paso Heights Growers' Alliance packaged and delivered all of the honey favors and seedles we gave to our guests! ✨ All Foundation staff joined in on stuffing and organizing name badges for the event. Many hands make light work! ✨ Our fearless leader, Kelly Siefkin, CFRE, walking staff through logistics, roles, and training before the event!

"The event was fantastic, bringing together community partners – including education, law enforcement, philanthropy, nonprofit, healthcare, and government leaders," Anthony shared. We thank the Neighborhood Wellness Foundation for having us! ✨

This week is National Estate Planning Awareness Week! Founded in 2008 and observed every year during the third full week of October, it’s a reminder that we all need to prepare our resources to ensure that our legacy lives beyond us when we pass. National Estate Planning Awareness Week is about drawing up an estate plan that protects your interests and your loved ones. It’s never too early to give yourself peace of mind by ensuring a thoughtful estate plan is in place. An estate plan can include a will or a trust, or both. It can detail beneficiary designations, like those you created for your bank account, retirement account, or life insurance. And it should include powers of attorney for your finances and your healthcare decisions, in the event you become incapacitated. An estate plan is also a smart way to shape your legacy and support the causes you love beyond your lifetime. Our expert Philanthropy Team can help you get started with a Legacy Fund.
