A very heartfelt congratulations to John for this much-deserved step in his career. Over the past 3 years, John has served as our first-ever Chief Financial Officer, helping lead Scout through some of the most critical years of our evolution that have set us up for the growth and success we’re experiencing today and into the future. John led us through our sale process, which culminated in our $1 billion acquisition by Brookfield in 2022. He built out our People and Culture team, helping solidify our culture and bolster our ability to hire the best talent in the industry. He helped optimize information flow and cross-collaboration between our many teams through a commitment to bettering our internal processes. I could go on. John’s appointment as CEO of Deriva, part of our Brookfield family of portfolio companies, is as good a testament as any to the fantastic work he has done here. John will always be part of the Scout family, and an integral part of our history. I wish him all the success in his next chapter. Scout Clean Energy
Deriva Energy is pleased to announce that John Clapp will join us as our new CEO. With solid leadership experience and a commitment to our mission, John will guide us through our next chapter of growth. We’re looking forward to working together and continuing our progress as a leading U.S. independent power producer. Please join us in welcoming John to Deriva! https://lnkd.in/eZQHhjEx

This past weekend, six Scouts rode 68 miles and climbed over 5,300 feet in the B Strong Ride on mountain roads near Boulder, Colorado to support local cancer care organizations, Boulder Community Health Center for Integrative Care (CIC), Live By Living Foundation, and Camp Kesem at CU Boulder. Cancer has impacted the lives of so many of our fellow Scouts, families, and friends. Thank you to everyone who rose to the challenge of the ride and contributed to raising funds for a great cause! Please visit the below link to the donation page for B Strong Ride to support the work of these great organizations. https://lnkd.in/eyE9EZAT

Our projects represent more than clean power generation; they also represent powerful economic vehicles for the communities in which we work. Scout has brought 1 GW of projects into operation that will generate more than $160 million in economic benefits for their communities over the expected operating life of the generating equipment, contributing to schools, hospitals, infrastructure, and other local needs. These impacts, as well as our charitable contributions, will continue to increase as we build out our substantial pipeline. A clean energy future is a prosperous future for all!

Last week, Scouts in Texas working onsite at our under-construction Markum Solar Farm joined Markum contractor Mortenson to celebrate 365 Days of Safe Work. The celebration featured a raffle, catered lunch on-site, and an opportunity to prove to the Markum crew that their safety achievements are recognized, celebrated, and rewarded. Thank you to the Mortenson team for hosting this celebration and for your unwavering commitment to safety excellence!
