Another benchmark study led by Dr. Mark Flory, OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, is now published in MDPI, revealing new insights with the potential to help in the improvement of prostate cancer detection and treatment. Using the #Proteograph workflow for enhanced depth, consistency, and scalability of serum and #plasma proteomic profiling, novel diagnostic markers were found within a large cohort of prostate cancer patients’ serum to support future clinical PSA reflex tests. 📈 5,468 protein groups were identified in at least one subject from 24,655 total peptides. 📊 3,628 of those protein groups were detected in at least 50% of the subjects, corresponding to 13,122 peptides. 🔬 Novel prostate cancer candidates were detected, highlighting associations of differentially abundant proteins with cytoskeletal, metabolic, and ribosomal activities. Representing one of the largest MS proteomic discovery studies in serum to date and demonstrating the true discovery power of #proteomics, this important work continues to advance the ongoing effort to develop more effective clinical tests for #prostatecancer. We are excited to announce another publication highlighting the #ProteographXT’s ability to offer superior protein quantification for discovery of novel early disease biomarkers in large cohort studies of #cancer, #neurological disorders, and #cardiovascular conditions. In research now published in Clinical Proteomics, Rajesh Soni, PhD, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, demonstrates how it outperforms other methods and enrichment technologies, including: 🔬 Identifying and quantifying over 4.2-fold more protein groups compared to Neat Plasma and 2.4-fold more compared to other methods. 📈 Quantifying over 6.7-fold more peptides compared to Neat Plasma and four-fold more compared to other methods. 📊 Improving the median CV to 10.7% compared to 24.6% for Neat Plasma and 21% for other methods.
