Recently celebrated two years here on staff at the South Carolina Power Team and I've been wanting to share some of the things I have learned and things that I'm most proud of. How we support our communities through site readiness is high on the list! Working with the local electric cooperative, getting sites truly market ready is something that we have been very successful in doing. Since its inception in 2014, our Site Readiness Fund (SRF) has provided a path for our cooperatives to win economic development deals and the cooperatives have made significant investments to prepare for these projects. The program, led by Rebecca Murrell Breland, P.E., gives our local communities and our Global Business Development team a major advantage in positioning our territories for wins. A great example is Golden Corner where a 42 acre pad is ready for the right project and Blue Ridge Electric and the SC Power Team are ready to support the county in landing the right opportunity!

What does a whopping 42-acre graded, pad ready manufacturing site in Oconee County look like? Like this! The county owned site at Golden Corner Commerce Park at I-85 is well suited for a variety of advanced manufacturing operations ranging from 300,000-1,000,000 SF, with an additional 280 acres of contiguous county owned property that is available for larger facilities. All utilities are in place and due diligence work completed. • In 2014, the South Carolina Power Team Board of Trustees enhanced our incentive offerings with Cooperative Recruitment and Expansion (CoRE) funds. Over the past decade, these programs have proven essential in creating opportunities within electric cooperative territory. The CoRE Fund allows us to invest strategically, often making the crucial difference in winning competitive projects. Not every cooperative has access to Site Readiness Funding (SRF), making CoRE incentives vital for securing developer-led deals and ensuring cooperative rights in customer choice situations. By leveraging the CoRE Fund, we empower our communities with the resources needed to grow and thrive. CoRE incentives have been impactful on projects across our system, including those pictured here.
