First steps are hard. They require careful planning, calculated risk, and most of all, courage. We took a daring first step earlier this month with the completion of TA-1’s first powered flight, reaching high supersonic speeds approaching Mach 5. The flight was a landmark moment on our path to providing our customers and nation a reusable and routine hypersonic test capability. Congratulations to the Stratolaunch team and our partners on this achievement! Stay tuned on our progress as we prepare to fly our first fully reusable Talon-A vehicle, TA-2, later this year. #hypersonic #firstflight #LetsRoc

Stratolaunch continues its tradition of giving back through our annual match donation program that allows our employees to choose an organization that resonates with our values of STEM education and supporting those in need within our communities where we live and work. Funds raised by employees are matched dollar for dollar by Stratolaunch to maximize positive impact to the organization. This year, our employees chose to support the Lost Angels Children's Project with a donation of $18,000. This incredible non-profit organization provides support to disadvantaged youth and families in our community through vocational training, social enterprise, and traditional outreach programs. We are honored to support their mission and the impactful work being done to inspire young career seekers to gain skills that often times transfer into full-fledged careers in aerospace maintenance, fabrication, and beyond.

Talon-A2's radar altimeter system was successfully tested in preparation for its upcoming flight later this year. The test consisted of suspending TA-2 from a crane to calibrate the RALT system, a radar altimeter attached beneath Talon to measure altitude from the ground, with the landing gear extended and retracted at heights over 60 feet. Talon's radar altimeter provides information allowing the vehicle to land autonomously and provide engineers with additional data to evaluate its reliability and accuracy during flight operations. #stratolaunch #hypersonic

Today Roc completed its 18th flight in the spirit of maintaining proficiency for our Mission Operations team members and continuing to improve operational cadence. The flight included a brief touchdown in which the team completed a crew change with engines running, and then returned to the skies to practice pattern work. Congratulations to pilots Adam Francki on his first flight in right seat and to Jonathan Bearce for his first flight in left seat! #LetsRoc
