We're helping an airport in Nunavut, Canada, continuously monitor permafrost conditions to ensure ground stability during construction. We recently installed a thermistor string using cutting-edge technology to measure ground temperatures. This innovation provides reliable data in extreme conditions, with cloud access for seamless design support. Using this technology, our Tetra Tech team provided: - Accurate ground temperature monitoring for precise data - Improved understanding of permafrost conditions for stable construction - Remote data access, reducing site visits and costs Our advanced technology, including the multibead ground temperature cable and D605 datalogger, ensures real-time, year-round data via satellite. Our energy experts attended The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) Summer Study in August, collaborating and sharing insight on enhancing energy resiliency and better serving vulnerable communities. Tetra Tech and our Entergy Arkansas, LLC (EAL) partners delivered an excellent presentation titled, “Continuing to Build Energy Resiliency Informed by Customer Electric Burden.” More details on the presentation can be found in the 2024 ACEEE Summer Study proceedings, including the peer-reviewed white paper co-authored with Tetra Tech’s Jonathan Hoechst and Lark Lee. Erica L. from our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, office is paddleboarding for this year’s #TtHealthyLife Challenge! She picked up this hobby while on a beach trip last year and hopes to paddleboard for the season as long as the weather remains pleasant. While paddling through the 2.5-mile loop on North Park Lake, Erica has seen an array of wildlife, including Ospreys, Great Blue Herons, and Eastern Kingbirds. Erica told us, “The Challenge always helps me get back into a good exercise routine before the holiday season!” We hope Erica spots all kinds of exciting wildlife this year!
