Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! As we celebrate the social and cultural contributions of the Hispanic community, it’s important to recognize the strides Hispanic students have made in higher education. According to Excelencia in Education*, Hispanic students accounted for the vast majority, 79%, of the 4% overall increase in degree attainment over the last five years. This accomplishment alone highlights the importance of access to scholarships, mentorship, and support throughout college. Although more Hispanic students are gaining more college degrees than ever before, there is still an education gap. The SoLa Foundation challenges this ongoing issue through access to scholarships, professional development opportunities, college internships, and mentorship.
