👏🏻 Bart Barta, The City of Miramar, Florida and team!
What a fantastic day of training! 26 additional first responders with the City of Miramar received autism recognition and response training. @Nathalie Stanish with CARD discussed all the wonderful support and services that CARD provides to individuals with autism in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe Counties. Jose Roman, an adult autistic self advocate shared with the first responders some of unique challenges and needs. He answered questions and everyone greatly appreciated his presentation. #AutismAwareness #firerescue #publicsafety #firedepartment #autism #firefighters #crisismanagement #autismspectrum #emergencymanagement #police #policeofficer #policetraining #lawenforcement #autismacceptance #EMS

One more big thank you for this week. We couldn't be more thrilled and humbled for the continued support from Miami-Dade County. The county has been an tremendous partner for CARD, with support from Raquel Regalado, Daniella Levine Cava, the Commission, and many others. This commitment was realized this week with the passing of the FY2024-2025 budget, with a record amount of $450K being allocated for CARD, which will go towards our mission to serve (more) families and individuals impacted by autism across South Florida. THANK YOU! https://lnkd.in/e-JHbAHb

It was great to be part of this mock interview day with CARD and The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation. The candidates were well prepared and each had their own unique experiences and stories. Can't wait to see what these young adults do and the impact they will have on their companies and communities.
Great work by our JobSEEKers team to prepare our young adults for interviewing for their dream jobs. And thank you to the business executives from our community who volunteered their time to participate in these mock interviews and provide valuable feedback to the candidates. On June 17th, we hosted, in partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, a special training for 120 dedicated paraprofessionals that serve our children at schools across the county. This training was made possible by the amazing ASD Support Team and through the generous support of PEPSA (Partnership for Effective Programs for Students with Autism). Congrats to everyone who made this training happen!
