We believe in the power of vaccination to save lives. That’s why we work to ensure that every dose remains safe and effective from storage to administration. Cold Chain Technicians (CCTs) are the unsung heroes of immunization programs, working tirelessly behind the scenes to maintain vaccine storage systems. In Malawi, CCTs like Ramson and Thokozani use Remote Temperature Monitoring Devices to detect issues early, prevent vaccine spoilage and improve efficiency. Their dedication keeps immunization programs running smoothly, ensuring that life-saving vaccines reach those who need them most. VillageReach transforms health care delivery to reach everyone.
About us
VillageReach is a non-profit global health innovator that develops, tests, implements and scales new solutions to critical health system challenges in low-resource environments, with an emphasis on strengthening the “last mile” of healthcare delivery. VillageReach combines expertise across public health, technology, and business to bring life-saving innovation – new systems, programs and technologies – to scale and sustainability in the world’s most underserved communities. Effective solutions require a deep understanding of local health systems, a diverse set of skills and expertise, and strong relationships on the ground in order to achieve sustainable impact. More than a decade of studying and working in low-resource communities around the globe drives our approach— focus on solutions that address the most critical barriers to improving health outcomes in LMICs: healthcare accessibility, lack of infrastructure, information availability, and human resource constraints.

Empowering Women, Strengthening Systems: VillageReach at the Heart of Family Planning Supply Chain Improvements in Côte d'Ivoire 🌍🤝 At VillageReach, we believe that everyone should have the health care they need to thrive. That's why we're proud to be a key partner in the Co-Creation Workshop for Family Planning Supply Chain Strengthening (FPSCS) underway in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire. This week, alongside policymakers, health experts and community partners, we're working to strengthen family planning services to ensure that every woman has access to the resources she needs. Our team has been actively involved in: 📰Baseline Assessment & Strategic Insights: We presented a comprehensive baseline assessment of the family planning supply chain, identifying critical bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. This data-driven approach is informing our collaborative strategy development. 💡Facilitating Collaborative Problem-Solving: Through engaging group sessions, we're fostering a space for partners to co-create practical solutions. We believe that local expertise and collaborative innovation are essential for sustainable impact. 💪Supporting Policy Implementation: We're contributing to discussions on Côte d'Ivoire's free family planning policy, ensuring its effective implementation and equitable reach. We're inspired by the dedication of our partners and the shared vision for a healthier Côte d'Ivoire, and are committed to building resilient health systems that prioritize the needs of women and families, and their ability to make informed choices about their health and futures. Mark your calendars! Join us for a premier of our new short video, “The Pharmacy Assistants of Malawi,” to see this educational pathway to the supply chain workforce in action. See Malawi’s commitment to having a skilled and supported supply chain workforce. In 2013, VillageReach worked with the Ministry Of Health Malawi and partners to develop the Pharmacy Assistant (PA) program to train and deploy a new cadre of facility-based pharmacy staff to improve data management, decrease logistics burden on clinical staff and improve quality of care. Now, in 2025, we follow a student and one of the program graduates as they bring health care and products to under-reached communities as trained supply chained professionals. Join us on March 25th, 2:00 PM GMT https://bit.ly/4ihO0Wu #humanresourceforthesupplychain #healthworkforcedevelopment #supplychain #malawi

There's no silver bullet to increase medicine availability across Africa. However, enhancing local private sector capacity can strengthen public health supply chains, by increasing collaboration with local private pharmaceutical distributors, for instance. In this first-of-its kind benchmarking report by VillageReach and the APDA - African Pharmaceutical Distribution Association assess how African countries are integrating private distributors into public health supply chains and what drivers increase their participation. Learn about the current state and future opportunities for engaging the private sector to ensure health products are available when and where they are needed: https://bit.ly/41HEMNm #PublicPrivatePartnership #PublicHealth #SupplyChain #HealthEquity #PPP

VillageReach had the incredible opportunity to convene and connect with our global community at The Africa Center in New York. Together, we explored diverse perspectives—community, national, and regional—on building responsive and resilient health care systems. Our discussions centered around key strategies for: * Recovering: How can we get essential systems running efficiently and do more with less? * Restoring: Identifying critical gaps in the health system where we can make the greatest impact. * Reimagining: Driving integration and envisioning long-term, sustainable change with strong pan-African leadership and strategy during this pivotal time. Keynote Speakers Freddy Nkosi, Binyah Kesselly and Dr. Ahmed Ogwell highlighted: * The growing momentum among African governments calling for innovative new models to achieve greater autonomy and domestic financing. * How building in community-centered responsiveness produces resilient, equitable health systems * Collective action and radical collaboration as key to integration and efficiency in health care delivery that reaches everyone A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us! Let's continue driving forward together, rethinking how we can create stronger, more integrated health systems.
