There's no place like home! 🏡 Sailors who serve aboard Virginia-class fast-attack submarine USS Vermont (#SSN792), which shipbuilders at Newport News Shipbuilding, A Division of HII, proudly helped build, reunited with their loved ones as the sub returns to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, on March 16 after a scheduled deployment. The third U.S. Navy ship named after the Green Mountain State, SSN 792 was administratively commissioned in April 2020 and is the first Block IV Virginia-class fast-attack submarine. As one of just two shipyards capable of designing and building nuclear-powered submarines, we're proud to build this class of the most advanced attack subs like Vermont that allow our servicemembers safeguard our seas and make it home safely to those who matter the most. 🤗 📸:U.S. Navy /MC1 Barnes

HII is proud to welcome VEEM Ltd (ASX:VEE) as one of the first Western Australian companies to join in the new Australian Submarine Supplier Qualification (AUSS-Q) pilot program led by HII — a significant milestone in building a stronger, more integrated defense industrial base across the #AUKUS alliance.
VEEM proudly hosted Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Richard Marles, Matt Keogh, Sam Lim MP, along with Tim Brown AM and Ashley Schneider from HII, the largest military shipbuilder in the United States, as part of the new Australian Submarine Supplier Qualification (AUSSQ) pilot program. VEEM has a long history as a supplier of critical cast precision components for defence, and navy in particular and is part of the AUSSQ program. Deputy Prime Minister, Richard Marles summed up the visit saying: "This offers the opportunity for VEEM to be qualified such that it can contract directly with HII in the United States…It's a huge step forward for VEEM, it's a huge step forward for Australian industry. But what's really important about this in the longer term, and this is the critical goal, is VEEM being qualified to supply onto the Virginia class program in the United States is a pathway to also supplying into the Astute class program in the United Kingdom.” Trevor R.
