Another year of New Engineers Will Build (NEWB) in the books! Over the last few years, NEWB has evolved into a comprehensive boot camp for our project engineers/senior project engineers covering contract documents, peer bonding, and of course, field experience/appreciation. Throughout the week, participants dove into the complexities of various construction contracts, the significance of thorough RFIs, the intense demands of our self-perform groups (Webcor Concrete, Drywall, and Carpentry), and the value of fostering meaningful, collaborative partnerships with teammates. Congratulations to this year's NEWB graduates on an incredibly productive week, and shout-out to our NEWB leader Kristina Reyna, EIT (assistant superintendent), NEWB event manager Sarah Wayland (senior project engineer), and NEWB mentors: Cibele Ortiz (assistant project manager), Samantha Dumalig (assistant project manager) Zak Mckellips (senior project engineer, Drywall), Isaac Hernandez (assistant superintendent, Concrete), and Robert Lim (assistant superintendent, Concrete)! #WhyWebcor 📷: Webcor Marketing Specialist Brandon Blum

What a summer! Before wrapping up their final weeks at Webcor, our interns celebrated Intern Appreciation Day with insightful tours of three of our San Francisco projects—China Basin Park (now complete), Biosolids Digester Facilities Project, and UCSF Health Helen Diller Hospital—and a relaxing waterfront lunch at Atwater Tavern. Thank you to all of our amazing interns for your fresh perspectives, thoughtful contributions, and inspiring energy this summer; we're grateful to have been part of each one of your professional journeys! #WhyWebcor

24 months into construction at the new USCF Helen Diller Hospital and we have transformed our site while transitioning from site clearance, through shoring, and hit our stride drilling in over 300 deep foundation piles. Over the last 6 months we have been hard at work 7 days a week on several projects across the site and campus and here are just some of the highlights and milestones we have achieved: - Installation of all cryogenic equipment in our oxygen tank yard - Completed the demolition of Langley Porter Psychiatric building within inches of active and neighboring operating rooms - Recycled 7,000cy of crushed building rubble to create a temporary drilling bench along Medical Center Way - Installed all soldier beams and cut down half the site by 25’ to drilling grade while installing a mixture of temporary and permanent tiebacks - Installed a 10’ tall long term vehicular impact rated barricade along the entire project perimeter - Completed all 9’ diameter deep soil mixing shafts to improve the strength of the sand underneath our site - Widened Medical Center Way to three lanes allowing for construction staging and future utility and steel erection logistics - Completed and commissioned a new Emergency Oxygen Supply Connection (EOSC) trailer pad, fill port, and interior oxygen install at the main entry loop of the existing hospital - Commenced multiple interior renovation projects inside Long & Moffitt hospital which will eventually allow for relocation of several existing hospital departments and thus an expanded loading dock for the new hospital - Relocated two EFWS high pressure hydrants to make way for one of our tower cranes - Obtained our largest OSHPD permit approval to date and installed a quarter of our deep foundation piles which are up to 200’ deep - Completed and commenced several complex campus utility relocations to eventually feed into the new hospital - And finally, started one our most complex projects yet to strengthen the main hospital shear wall and cut 6 new corridor openings in the wall which will allow connecting corridors between the existing and new hospital We will be drilling for another few months and then the race to the bottom of the hole is on! We couldn’t do it without the incredible efforts of our partners below! #FBF to 100 Corson Plaza, which reached full completion in late February! This renovation project in Pasadena included the demolition of existing podium site work, re-waterproofing of the facility, and buildout of a new podium with finishes and structures. The renovated plaza offers Operating Engineers Local 12 a modernized courtyard featuring white cement hardscape, planters filled with flourishing landscape, and shade structures supported by complex structural retrofitting. Many thanks to our project partners including Cushman & Wakefield, Wolcott Architecture, Psomas, KPFF Consulting Engineers, and Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc.. for their dedicated collaboration throughout the project! #BuildWithWebcor 📷: RMA: Design & Photography

We were honored to support Katie's Clinic for Rett Syndrome at the Katie Nues Foundation charity golf tournament last week! Katie's Clinic is one of the few centers in the United States to offer comprehensive care for patients with Rett syndrome, a rare and debilitating neurological disorder diagnosed almost exclusively in girls. Thank you to all our Webcor Carpentry team members who showed up to support this incredibly impactful organization! #WhyWebcor

The Contra Costa County Administration Building is officially complete! Team members from Webcor, Perkins&Will, and Contra Costa County gathered at the county's new cutting-edge administration building and civic plaza last week to celebrate its unveiling in downtown Martinez. This vital community asset consolidates several essential County services under one roof and features a new public law library, parking garage, ground-floor retail space, and public plaza for local events such as farmers' markets and public performances. Congratulations to all involved in this sustainably built, community-driven project for Contra Costa County workers, residents, and visitors! https://lnkd.in/gSRq3_D9 📷 : Webcor Sr. Communications Director Shel Holtz, SCMP
