Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE) reposted this
The first day of the WRISE Leadership Forum was wonderful. So much energy in one place. I’m excited to be in Washington, D.C., for the Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE) Leadership Forum. People are excited to be excited at the chance to come together and celebrate where we are in renewables and looking forward. I’ve seen so many old friends, which is always the best side effect of any gathering like this. There’s also a historic vibe being in Washington, D. C. Being here is a beautiful reminder of how important our history and legacy are. You’re reminded of all that came before us. Especially for an event like this, which focuses on fostering women. The Capitol is the place where so much has happened for women. Bailie visited the rotunda at the Capitol building, and she said all the statues of the women especially moved her. In particular, the Rosa Parks statue. They are beautiful tributes to the women who have come before. We participated in the leadership track discussions, a new part of the leadership forum WRISE is expanding. It provides ways for women to look at being on boards and creates a pathway to the executive suite. It’s exciting we're having these discussions. I think it's something WRISE has wanted to do for a long time. I think it feels appropriate that something historic like this for WRISE has it at this time, in this place. The Capitol, like WRISE, has seen more emphasis on bringing women to the table and making sure they have a seat at the table. It’s the appropriate time. It’s the right time. Let me tell you, WRISE knows how to throw a party. We’ve had such a fantastic time for the entire day. I can’t wait for more. Abby Hopper, Doseke Akporiaye, #WRISE2024, #WRISENERGY
