Join SOSV next week (April 24, 7:00 a.m. PT - Virtual | Live | Free) for "How should we measure and attribute climate impact?", led by Pale blue dot's Hampus Jakobsson and joined by Norrsken VC's Agnes Svensson, Planet A Ventures' Jessica Burley, AENU's Elena Harumi Stark, and Worldfund's Morgan Sheil. Register below. Everyone wants to know the likely climate impact for any given climate tech startup, and the answers vary hugely depending on the category (ag, transport, materials, etc.) as well as the technology and, of course, eventual market adoption. How strict should we be when measure “impact?” https://lnkd.in/gfs3PKnv

Thank you to HolonIQ, the Indo-Pacific Partnership for Prosperity, and the 14 IPEF countries for their work and support throughout the process. The Indo-Pacific region is projected to account for half of all global energy demand by 2050. We are excited to be at the IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum, working alongside HolonIQ, the Indo-Pacific Partnership for Prosperity, investors, stakeholders, and governments on the best ways to cleanly and affordably meet that demand and drive continued economic growth.

How does one learn more extreme impact?? Just head to Startup Norway in Hemsedal! This year, I'm thrilled to be speaking on the Startup Extreme panel about Crossing the Valley of Death for Climate Tech Innovations: Reaching the 2030 Goals. As someone deeply involved in the impact quantification of climate technologies, I believe that corporate engagements are crucial in helping bridge the notorious capital raising gap many hardware innovations encounter. These partnerships not only attract essential resources and strategic support but are key to scaling up transformative solutions. Joining me in this discussion are Katherine Mellis from Sandwater, Simen Malmin from Nysnø Climate Investments, Stefan Maard from Climentum Capital, and moderator Jørn Haanæs! 📅 When: Wednesday 24th, 15:45 - 16:30 📍 Where: Mainstage (Tent) Stavkroa During the panel, I intend to emphasize the role of impact in these processes, particularly through #Scope4 avoided emissions. At ClimatePoint, we use this data not just as a measure of environmental benefit but as a critical tool in aligning with the evolving #SFDR fund reporting requirements and the Corporate Social Responsibility Directive (#CSRD). Projecting this data effectively ensures that our innovations resonate with the metrics that matter to investors and stakeholders, bolstering both market entry and expansion efforts. 🚀 Join us to explore how proactive use of impact data and story projection can catalyze these #ChangeMaking corporate engagements and realize our ambitious goals for a sustainable future. #StartupExtreme #ClimateTech #SFDR #Article9 #Innovation #Sustainability #Hemsedal

5 years ago, Innosphere Ventures wanted to be precisely where we are today: uniquely positioned with a strong emphasis on the Cleantech and Life Sciences sectors. Historically, Innosphere cast a wide net, welcoming virtually any B2B business model falling under the science and tech umbrella. But in the name of greater impact and effectiveness, we made the bold decision to narrow our focus. Partnering with universities and venture firms in these specialized spaces, we set our sights on where the market was heading: sustainable, high-impact efforts within climate resilience and Life Sciences. This strategic pivot has proven instrumental in both deepening our impact and enabling us to capitalize on emerging opportunities. By concentrating our efforts on Cleantech and Life Sciences, we've been able to leverage government funding trends and align ourselves with the trajectory of the market. Today, the fruits of our efforts are evident in our myriad initiatives, from wet lab facilities in Fort Collins, Colorado to running a Regional Life Sciences Program and executing the CO-WY Climate Resilience Engine, backed by the NSF. It was quite the journey getting here, but thanks to our strategic partnerships and our dedicated team, every step has been guided by a commitment to excellence. For us, “thinking big” actually translates to “thinking specific.” With our focus, we’ve found success. As COO of Innosphere and COO of the CO-WY Engine, I’m excited to see where the next 5 years take us.
