Together with other Interreg BSR Projects, we are proud to work towards building a more #resilient tomorrow. #MadewithInterreg In this video we represent our Easy Energy project (seconds 14-16 to be exact) and Dr. Jürgen Hogeforster also makes a star appearance. Easy Energy is a IBSR Core Project which guides municipalities and enterprises on how to reduce energy consumption in existing buildings with simple and inexpensive measures, and prepares energy practitioners to advise on low-tech energy-efficient solutions in the future. #energyefficiency

Christos Stylianides, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Hellenic Republic, in his recorded message, shared Greece's commitment to supporting the global maritime ecosystem, representing the world's largest fleet. He emphasized the factor of a competitive maritime environment and the critical milestone of decarbonization to ensure international maritime makes a fair contribution to the global economy. Acknowledging the long and challenging road ahead, he highlighted the need for the availability of safe and low-carbon fuels. Mr. Stylianides called for close intersectoral and cross-sectoral collaboration, intensified research into alternative fuels, and the use of all available resources and knowledge. He advocated for a holistic approach rather than fragmented policies, stressing the importance of timely production of sustainable technologies in light of strong competition. He emphasized Greece's participation as a vendor in clean maritime initiatives, focusing on the enhancement of energy efficiency in ships and building green vessels. Mr. Stylianides urged innovative thinking to develop new solutions using both traditional and novel resources, involving public and private sectors. He highlighted the need for a safe investment environment that generates positive environmental results while maintaining Greece's leadership in international shipping. Session III (May 16): How can digital transformation improve Maritime Information Systems and Maritime Domain Awareness in the Atlantic Space? What are priority risk and resilience challenges? This project is being launched as a “think ahead” effort in the spirit of the Partnership for Atlantic Cooperation (PAC), a grouping of 32 Atlantic countries, on these and other issues.
