Yesterday we had the joy to host Central Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. at the Finish Line of our month long Step Challenge. We may have been outstepped by our competition, but some very worthwhile charities that are supported by the electric cooperatives throughout South Carolina benefited. We were proud to support WIRE's Kids' Closet and SC Cooperatives Care Foundation. Thank you to everyone who participated in the competition and attended yesterday.

The power of partnerships!
Far Ridgeline Engagements LLC, a QinetiQ US company, extends thanks to our silver sponsors: RDR, Inc., Quick Services LLC (QSL), The Special Psychological Applications Corporation (SPA), and Barnware. These companies serve alongside FRLE professionally in empowering our clients through teamed support, as well as in serving the local community. SPA has served as a sponsor over the last four years and Barnware joins us as a first time sponsor this year. These companies serve the local Moore County area and as community partners with FRLE. Local toy drives have a special place in our hearts because they directly impact the lives of children in our very own community. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, can make a world of difference to a child who may otherwise go without a gift during the holidays. By donating to local drives, you're not only spreading joy but also fostering a sense of togetherness and compassion. Where can you donate? Big Brothers and Big Sisters of RI: This local organization collects clothing and soft fabrics for children in need and distributes them to families within the community. You can donate to their bins at the VFW as well as the Cup Defenders on Wood St. Bristol Police Department: They often host a holiday toy drive, and donations can be dropped off at their headquarters. Local Churches: Many churches in Bristol actively participate in toy drives during the holiday season. Check with your local parish to see if they have a collection. Schools and Community Centers: Keep an eye out for toy collection bins at your local schools or community centers. If we can become aware of others and what the community is hosting this holiday season, one purchase, one drive, one thought can directly impact someone else this holiday season for the better. This is your Daily Dose of the day! #MondayMotivation #Donations #HolidaySeason #BristolRI #RhodeIsland #DailyDoseofBristolRI

I don't pretend to be an expert on this, but this is one of the many reasons I love working at Feather Down Farms. As a society, we're witnessing the rise of screen addiction among our children, I know we are as a family. Recent studies have shown that prolonged exposure to screens can lead to issues like sleep disturbances, obesity, poor academic performance, and even developmental delays. 😔 Here are a few steps I have started to try and implement in our house: 📺 Set Screen Time Limits: Establish clear guidelines for screen time and stick to them. We encourage outdoor activities, reading, and imaginative play as alternatives. 🤳 Lead by Example: My children often mimic my behaviour so I am conscious of my screen time and leave my phone in other rooms of the house to remove the temptation for me to scroll or respond to messages 💻 Create Tech-Free Zones: Designated areas in our home where screens are not allowed, such as our dining table or the kids' bedrooms, to promote quality family time. 🏕️ Enjoy a Feather Down weekend often #ScreenTime #ChildHealth #DigitalWellBeing #ParentingTips #Education #HealthyHabits
In today's fast-paced digital age, it's easy for children to become glued to screens, losing touch with the wonders of the natural world. Yet, amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life, there lies a treasure trove of benefits awaiting our children - the great outdoors. 🌱 Whether you live in a busy city or quiet suburbia, the benefits of enjoying the great outdoors span beyond just fresh air and sunshine. ☀️ In our partnership blog with Go Beyond charity, we unveil the multitude of benefits for children when they head into the great outdoors. ➡ https://lnkd.in/e-jQvN_m

Well, that was fun..! I decided to test an upcoming activation concept for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana by running a mini version myself. I’m happy to reconfirm that peer-to-peer fundraising is alive and well! 🎉 And no… it does not need to be tied to an event or special occasion. In a little over 24 hours, I exceeded my goal - raising $1,500+ from 24 donors. Here's what worked: ✅ Great Tech: A seamless and straightforward platform and donation process thanks to my BFF Fundraise Up. ✅ Individual Donor Recognition: Every single contribution was celebrated - personally and publicly! ✅ Regular Updates: I kept the momentum going with live progress shares. ✅ Personalization & Storytelling: Every message came straight from me, with personal anecdotes wherever possible. ✅ Mission Tie-In: I made it clear why donations were so impactful at this specific moment in time. ✅ Multichannel Communication: I reached out to my community through texts, social media, and email. What did I miss? Anything you’d add to ensure the official launch of this campaign is a success? #peertopeer #p2pfundraising #fundraising #rmhc #keepingfamiliesclose
We made it! The first day of Spring 🌸 As the days get warmer, the need for support at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana grows. Summer is our busiest time of year as many families use the break to travel for treatments and surgeries. Mike McDonald and I have an exciting summer ahead welcoming another McDonald boy to our fam! 💙 As you look forward to relaxing days and family vacations, please don't forget those families who will be spending their summer in hospital rooms. These next few weeks are a critical time to rally the resources needed to help RMHC-CNI be fully prepared to support these families. I've set up a personal fundraiser to pay it forward and ensure we are able to provide a home away from home for everyone who needs it. Help me reach my goal:
