Celebrating International Day of the Boy Child: Empowering Boys for a Brighter Future Today marks a special day that often gets overlooked in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives: International Day of the Boy Child. It's a day where we take a moment to reflect on the unique needs and challenges facing boys around the world, and to celebrate their potential, their dreams, and their right to be happy, healthy, and valued members of our communities. I've made it a personal tradition to commemorate this day because I believe deeply in the power and potential that resides within every boy. So, if no one else is going to do it, I'll be here to remind you all, always. Why do we need to celebrate? Well, because too often, boys are taught to suppress their emotions, to put others before themselves, and to tough it out even when they're struggling inside. We've burdened them with the expectation to always be strong, to never show vulnerability, and to never ask for help. But why should they have to carry that weight alone? We need to unlearn these harmful stereotypes and teach boys to embrace their full humanity. That means teaching them that it's okay to prioritize their own well-being, to share their emotions openly, and to seek support when they need it. It means encouraging them to celebrate their successes without fear of judgment, and to learn from their failures without feeling defeated. In short, it means creating a world where boys are allowed to be themselves – where they're not judged or vilified simply for being boys. A world where they're free to make mistakes, to learn and grow, and to pursue their passions with confidence and enthusiasm. So, here's to the future we hope for – a future where every boy is given the love, support, and encouragement he needs to thrive. Let's celebrate International Day of the Boy Child by committing ourselves to building that future together. Happy International Day of the Boy Child! 🎉 #InternationalDayoftheBoyChild #Empowerment #BoysMatter #CelebrateBoys #BreakTheStereotypes

Every minute, 23 girls are married before the age of 18 — nearly one girl every three seconds. It’s a statistic that gives me the chills, because family members and friends of mine were married off at young ages. I saw it happen right in front of me and couldn’t do anything about it when I was a young girl. That’s why I want everyone in my network to know about Girls Not Brides: The Global Partnership to End Child Marriage and enabling girls to fulfill their potential. They unite over 1,400 organizations from more than 100 countries, each working to amplify the voices of girls at risk and support those who have been married as children. It’s a collective effort focused on advocating for girls’ rights to health, education, and opportunities to thrive. Joining this mission allows me to connect my past experiences with impactful global actions. It’s an honor to collaborate with such a dedicated network leading initiatives that make a real difference, but we still have so much work to do. What are your thoughts on this issue? We need to start discussions around this to help girls around the world live a life of freedom and choice. Please help me help those who can’t help themselves. #GirlsNotBrides #EndChildMarriage #EmpowerGirls

Happy International Boy Child Day! Today, we celebrate and acknowledge the importance of raising our boys with care, attention, and love. Having worked on a few personal and group projects focused on the boy child and youths, I've seen firsthand how often their unique needs and challenges are overlooked. It's crucial to remember that boys need as much guidance and support as girls. Our society cannot thrive if we continue to neglect the boy child. Too often, we prepare women for unprepared men, perpetuating a cycle that benefits no one. Let's commit to raising our boys well. Teach them to be humane, responsible, kind, and respectful to everyone. Encourage them to practice good personal hygiene and embrace domestic responsibilities. By doing so, we nurture future men who are compassionate, respectful, and well-rounded. Together, we can break the cycle and create a better world for all. Theodore Roosevelt said; "do what you can, with what you have, where you are. Dear parents, raise your boys well! Happy International Boy Child Day! PS: The video is one of my personal projects I did 2 years ago🙆, from planning to execution. #HappyInternationalBoyChildDay #ABetterFuture #ProjectManagement #CommunityDevelopment

NEW WORK - 10. That's the amount of days off parents are legally allowed to take if they lose their child. 10 days to mourn. An aberration, when you know that mourning is infinite. A parent will never stop thinking about his or her child, and on certain dates (birthdays, Mother's Day, etc.) some parents will need another day off. That's why we've come up with this initiative for OVK (Parents of Road Victims): to offer parents who have lost a child the possibility of converting a ‘werkdag’ into a ‘verwerkdag’. A specially chosen day off to think, remember, mourn and celebrate.

🚨 Inspiring Change with NAPCAN: Empowering Young Girls to Build Safer, Positive Relationships 🚨 We had the incredible opportunity to speak with Leesa and Madelene, two passionate individuals driving NAPCAN’s mission to support young girls in identifying and understanding abuse, while also empowering them to foster healthier, safer relationships. Their dedication is nothing short of inspiring! 💖 Through NAPCAN’s amazing programs, volunteers actively visit schools, colleges, and community centres, delivering impactful workshops that educate and support youth on how to spot the signs of abuse and establish positive boundaries. These volunteers play a crucial role in creating an environment where young girls feel empowered to protect themselves and others. The work that NAPCAN does is so important in today’s world, and we are proud to support their mission of spreading awareness, building safe communities, and helping prevent abuse before it starts. 🌍 Let’s continue to raise our voices for those who need us the most and work together to make a difference! 🌟 You can find out more about their LoveBites programme here: https://lnkd.in/eWaxyayU We're proud they use Rosterfy to support their cause. #NAPCAN #Empowerment #EndAbuse #PositiveRelationships #VolunteersMakeADifference #SafeCommunities #TogetherWeCan
