Dunkin'’ Iced Coffee Day is back! $1 from every Iced Coffee sold on Thursday, June 20 will support the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation’s mission to bring joy to kids battling illness in local hospitals, including Cleveland Clinic Children’s. Over the last two years, Dunkin’ Iced Coffee Day has raised more than $3.5 million for the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation, which has awarded nearly 200 grants to local children’s hospitals nationwide. These grants funded year-round child life programming that ranges from art, music and gaming to more integrated therapy programs, including support for facility dogs through the Foundation’s Dogs for Joy program. #clevelandclinic #GivingDoesGood

You know that parents are key. You know that the parent-school relationship is complex. Your school’s parent engagement is no silver bullet to all the issues… and yet bit by bit you can change the culture to be more support and reduce the number of outbursts you are dealing with. Following last year’s first-ever Best season yet for schools, we are back for 24/25. There are some big changes to improve it, following what we learnt last year. *We are combining the senior and prep school series, making it cheaper for all. *We changed the dates to fit into the school year and household diaries better! *There is now a healthy early bird discount. *You can choose your package based on your budget. *We can tell you the names of those who have signed up from your school. 🎉And the most exciting development is that we will let you throw open the series to any state schools or grass roots schools you are part partnered with at no extra cost to help prove your wider/ charitable benefit.🎉 (Depending on the package you choose!) If you want to talk more about how this will serve your school you can book a chat here: https://lnkd.in/ePT299vA If you want to get on a book now you can use this link here: https://lnkd.in/ep3aS8Dz *Don't miss out on that early bird!*

Today, on #GivingTuesday, I am especially grateful to be part of the #BellXcel family. Working for a mission-driven organization is an incredibly fulfilling experience; I love knowing that the work I do every day helps us move closer to achieving our mission for all children to excel. Quality out-of-school time is crucial. Children involved in extracurricular activities and programs are 400 percent more likely to go to college. However, for every child enrolled in an after school program, there are three more who are still waiting to get in. There are nearly 25 million children in the United States who aren’t able to access out-of-school programing, an issue which disproportionately affects youth in low-income communities. BellXcel helps bridge that gap in three key ways. Our software platform Arly enables programs to scale effectively and utilize quality measurement tools to drive program improvement. Our consulting affiliate, the Sperling Center for Research and Innovation - SCRI, provides evidence-based, actionable guidance to schools and youth-serving organizations. And our newly launched impact initiative, Rise, focuses on expanding access to the communities that need it most. More on that coming soon! If you're anything like me, extracurricular activities are some of your fondest childhood memories. Science Olympiad, Inc. , debate team, and swim team at the Barrington YMCA all played a key role in shaping my future during my middle and high school years. Today, I ask you to take a few minutes to reflect on your own childhood and the programs or activities you participated in which had a lifelong impact. Then, if you're able, I invite you to make a donation to our Giving Tuesday campaign to help other children access life-changing out of school experiences. If you aren't able to make a donation today, please help boost this post by shouting out one of the extracurricular organizations that impacted your own childhood in the comments! 💙

As you may already know, I serve on the Board of Everybody Wins DC, a non-profit I care deeply about that offers free reading programs to children across the DC region, and we need your help. Research conducted by education officials has confirmed what we at EWDC already knew – the pandemic has had a disastrous impact on literacy and behavioral achievement for elementary schools, with Black and Hispanic students seeing larger declines than their peers. If children can’t read, or haven’t developed critical social-emotional skills, they are less likely to succeed at school or in life. That’s why EWDC is doing more than ever to help children build these essential foundational skills. Last year, our one-on-one mentoring, read-aloud activities, and book distributions reached more than 6,000 children across the DC region. This year, our goal is to do even more. It’s what our kids need and deserve. That’s why I am asking for your support. Since our launch in 1995, EWDC programs have been 100% free for families, schools, and community partners. We can do this for our students because of what people like you do for EWDC. Every dollar makes a difference. Please make a gift today so we can give our students a better tomorrow. Click here to contribute to this worthy cause: https://lnkd.in/eAv55Xmd Many thanks, Arielle Elliott

If you'd like a dose of inspiration this week, please consider joining us for the Up3 Annual Virtual Fundraiser Event. Yes, it's a fundraiser! Let's get that out of the way up front. And why would you want to join a virtual event knowing that we will want you to donate? Because the money supports foster kids as their mentors help them Unlock Passion, Potential and Purpose in their lives! I think we all know how hard it is to be a youth, a teenager, a person - under any circumstances. Now, imagine that you're a youth that doesn't even have a parent or two that will ALWAYS be in your corner or on your side. Up3 pairs foster kids with adult mentors who help them sort through life, help them determine their passions, support those passions, and more. Please consider registering for this event to learn more about what Up3 does, and how much help these kids need. One of these amazing young adults you see is one of my mentees, and even if you can't make the event, please consider making a donation during May, which is Foster Care Awareness Month. Let's help give these kids the support they truly need and deserve! up3atlanta.org/mayevent
