🌟Project launch 🌟 A new international consortium of academic and industrial leaders is pleased to announce the launch of ILLUMINATE - Increasing lutetium production while leveraging metabolic imaging to enhance theranostics effectiveness. ILLUMINATE aims to demonstrate the unique value of recently developed Metabolic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (#MeMRI) visualizing chemical processes in the body to significantly improve effective application of #theranostics – an approach combining diagnosis, treatment, and continuous follow up of a condition. ILLUMINATE will provide the first clinical translation of MeMRI, with application to castrate resistant metastatic #prostate cancer. This will pave the way for future expansion of the technology for use in earlier #cancer stages and in other cancer types. In parallel, ILLUMINATE seeks to increase the overall availability of #lutetium and develop more sustainable production methods. Moore, the team identified liver-derived constraints to metastasis that could inhibit the crucial interaction between plexin and semaphorin, thus preventing cancer cells from colonizing the liver and forming new tumors. The study was conducted through innovative in vivo interaction screening, allowing the researchers to scrutinize the relationships among cells within the cancer ecosystem. Today I presented our team’s work on learning using weakly labeled datasets for cell segmentation at the #SPIEMedicalImaging conference. By leveraging adapted target losses, we are able to utilize nucleus centers annotations and nucleus segmentations for the segmentation of whole-cell instances. This allows us to increase the available training data and results in an overall improvement of model accuracy.   Tomorrow I will present a poster on our work showcasing an innovative, almost entirely annotation- and hypothesis-free method for discovering predictive cancer biomarkers candidates from cell phenotypes using self-supervised learning and clustering. This work has the potential to accelerate biomarker discovery, by identifying novel biomarkers, and offering valuable insights towards treatment selection.   Looking forward to meeting the rest of the attendees at my poster.
